I heard a good analogy yesterday.......the insurance industry has been sentenced to the same fate as the mortgage industry....the government forced them to give mortgages to people that could not qualify under the standard guidelines......now, the government is forcing the insurance industry to cover people that do not meet the standards that are in place to be able to turn a profit

HUUUM!

The insurance industry will radically change, or go away. This is a transition to a single payor system.

This is the only long-term outcome I can see from all this. This un-holy alliance between the government trying to control markets is doomed to fail.

bad credit = cancer?

Credit doesn't have too much correlation of an inability to pay for a mortgage that the industry was forced to give.

The "affordable" healthcare offered here will come at the expense of other insurance holders. If giving everyone healthcare were a viable source of revenue, or even made any financial sense, the insurance companies would have found a way to do it.
