"With the players we have on this team, I thought we could compete with anybody in the country," Lane said. This is from the article...I agree, the coaching sucks

Do you really think there will be another one? This team was depleted when Kiffin bolted, but not anymore. Who gives up big plays, week after week, no matter the team? TN must be setting some kind of record here. We have one of the best offenses in the SEC and still haven't won an SEC game.

I think its set in stone that he is gone if they lose next week , the D played good the first half then they went into the locker room and seen SAL , then played bad the rest of the game . That's say's alot of what they might think of him . IMO our offense could play and beat any team in this country , lets hope we have most of the players coming back , but better defense is a must to win .

I am glad that Hamilton hired Dooley, rather than the current coach at A & M. Hamilton said Dooley had more organizational skills.
Meanwhile, we lose to an S.E.C. newcomer, at our stadium and on the same day, A & M's, unorganized coach, beat the #1 team in the land, in Tuscaloosa, with a crowd of hostile '"O Bama" fans.
Hamilton needs to stick with hiring basketball coaches.
He at least got the Pearl & Martin hires correct.....

The article was written by David Climer from the Tennessean. Looks like both newspapers are owned by Gannett, so they must share articles. Either way, it appears other parts of the nation are being spread the awful news that is Derek Dooley's time at UT. Even though it's not all his fault, I'm glad it's almost over...

As it turns out, Hamiton's hiring of Pearl turned out to be like most of his other hires, a failure. Unless one considers the "slick" Pearl and his "smooth" cheating and lying about it, and UT's subsequent probation as a result of that Pearl cheating, to be a success. Hamilton's best move was to eliminate Phil Fulmer, but that was after after his horrible mistake of giving Fulmer a 6 mil contractual gift, a gift that is plaguing the AD today.
