The closest I can ever recall was back in 1990 when we lit up Florida for 38 points in the second half to beat them 45-3.

Vols have put up 40+ a couple time against ranked.

Here are a few

1995 Vols/6 beat Bama/12 41-14

1994 Vols/19 beat GA/23 41-23 (Athens)

1993 Vols/7 beat Louisville/13 45-10

Here is a good stat. Since Fulmer, Cut, and Chavis have been working together as HC, OC, and DC. Only 3 teams have beat them. Can you name them???

Well I like Cutcliffe but I have to think any offensive coordinator on a top 25 team would have a pretty good record in the games he scored 30 points.

Cutcliffe became OC in '93 right? that means.. Florida, Penn State, Alabama, UCLA, Mississippi State, Memphis, Nebraska

All those teams have beaten us during David Cutcliffe's (interrupted) reign

Chavis became the DC in 1995, so only the records from 95-98 and this year would be included, so that knocks out Alabama, UCLA, Mississippi State and Penn State.
