Saw this and thought it was interesting. Maybe it's the overwhelming lack of support for Cuonzo Martin from the Volnation faithful, but I thought it was pretty much a given that EVERYONE thought this was the year that Cuonzo makes the dance or dances away. Anyway, here's the link.

Sounds like many of the stances on here.

1) 1-3-1 introduced at Alabama. Use for about 17 minutes to finish the half and won going away
2) Used 2 minutes against Vandy early in second half and were outscored 36-24 in paint beating man-to-man.
3) Used from 9:45 to 2:45 against Florida, eight possessions, no baskets until two free throws.
4) Missouri, tv announcers screaming use 1-3-1. No show!
This team is 20-5 instead of 15-10 if Martin used a zone like Calipari and Donovan!

I read the sports folks quotes and it appears they are evenly split between a coach with possibly a 19, 20, and ? season being fired would not be too appealing to a new candidate and a need to inject some energy into Tennessee basketball. The way I look at it is this! Jeronne Maymon has been All SEC along with Stokes and McRae. I wonder if there has ever been another team with All SEC players in the starting lineup. 'Nuff said!

He needs to be fired regardless of how he finishes this year. We already know he is in over his head and some have known that for several years. Let him go and let's get back to winning against the elite programs.

I believe Cuonzo is a good guy but good guys don't always win. I watched the Mizzouri game and could not believe UT didn't exploit the foul trouble the tigers had. With three starters with four fouls, CCM should have instructed the Vols to go to Jarnell every time possible to foul them out. Yet, Stokes hardly touched the ball the last six minutes.

maymon is Not having and all SEC type year.

Can any of you historians tell me if there has ever been another team with three ALL SEC first and second team players in the starting lineup. In the 2012-2013 pre-season all SEC team Jeronne Maymon was first team and Jarnell Stokes was second team. In the 2013-2014 pre-season basketball team STokes was Player of the Year and McRae was second team. How do you not be a champion with that combination?

Good read. Let me say that I'm very disappointed this season and some of the losses we've had are inexcusable. Think of how much negative energy has been around this program all season long. We get a bad loss or two and fans start acting crazy. We have fans who leave with 4:00 minutes left on the shot clock against Florida, that's really encouraging to our players. Not to say it's completely to blame but it's probably hard to stay focused with all this talk about Bruce. I really think he deserves another year entirely with his roster. I think people really over speculate our lineup.

The only problem is he won't have another year with THIS roster. Next year, we will be sans Maymon, Stokes, Barton and McRae. 3 of those 4 players are very important right now to our success. That's not to say that Davis, Moore, Hubbs and Thompson won't be able to step up next year, but right now, I don't think any of those are the same caliber as McRae or Stokes. We should be winning with this roster, especially with how Richardson has stepped up this year.

I feel like it's tournament or nothing, but I can see how people could make the coaching continuity argument. But if you are consistently average, is that really better than trying to find someone that can be consistently great in a couple years? Martin's coaching decisions (or lack thereof) have been baffling at best. I think it's time we start looking.

I don't get the needing 4 years thing. We know our roster for next year, and in all likelihood it will be the worst in the past decade.

This link lost me when it made the Duke coaching comparison. By the way who are these great recruits we got coming in, did I miss something?

The 4 committed are decent players. They aren't world beaters, though. If you get a coach in here that can recruit worth a flip at all, those recruits will stay put if that coach wants them. And another coach might even be able to upgrade. So I'm with you, but that was just one person's opinion.

His recruiting has been middle of the pack in the SEC.....how will it be better?

We will struggle in ever facet of the game next year, offense in particular.

Year 4 will be Martin's worst by far, I agree with this

We'll be a lot more athletic and we can do a lot more with next year's lineup. We're pretty limited to what we can do with Maymon/Barton. I can see us being similar to NC State this year. I can see Moore, Davis and Richardson stepping up big next year.

UT does not get any bench production and I would not mind a staff shakeup if CCM is given a fourth season.

LOL.....I see us looking more like Georgia usually looks

We will not average a point a minute next year. You can take that to the bank. For those who have problems with math that is 40 points or less next year.
