Interesting dynamic: Guess which school...

A&M would be most excited to have join the SEC with them? Answer: Va. Tech. I forgot, but both schools have corps of cadets--and on the A&M board I just visited they are absolutely simpatico with the hokies; one guy said they would be A&M's "friendliest rivalry" if both joined the SEC. Now, Va. Tech seems perfectly content in the ACC, and their AD yesterday waved off the idea of joining the SEC as a complete nonstarter, but maybe this military angle will get hokie folks to reconsider. Still a very long shot, I would think--but I haven't yet visited the va.tech board!

Really hope we don't take Va. Tech if we're planning to get one from the ACC.. would much rather have many of the other ACC schools like FSU/Miami/UNC/Clemson/GT..

I would not be upset at all if we add Clemson. I would love to make the road trip to Greenville. Plus, they have a large following in Charlotte area.

Clemson is a contender if they are interested. Home games are more like being in an SEC stadium. Very electrifying. The market is larger than they get credit for. The I-85 corridor here is exploding in automotive jobs and growing. From Anderson to Spartanburg is almost one continuous metro area. Huge industry support base, etc. The upstate region is compact and populated. You have to look beyond just Clemson. They are very academic and have solid sports. Similar to UGA. Without ATL an hour away, Athens would be nothing. Plus, Charlotte is only 1.5 hours away give or take.

UNC is the ONLY school you mentioned that adds a new market to the SEC. This is all about markets, otherwise, Tech, Clemson, FSU, and Miami would be the logical calls.

i don't want the ACC. I'll take A&M and Oklahoma but that would be it. Otherwise we just stay the same.

VT has pretty much publicly announced it isn't interested in joining the SEC....Not that they were ever offered to begin with...They don't really add much anyways
