So, this article talks about Jeremiah Smith and how much potential he has and how good he should be. But look at this list. Egbuka was a stud in 2022 but injuries hurt him. We see what happens. Probably too early to declare Branch or Stewart stars or busts.WR list.jpg

Only Diggs, Watkins, Woods and St. Brown turned into anything at the NFL level. Diggs never had 1,000 yards in college. St. Brown was a Pac-12 first teamer but never was an All-American. Woods was an All-American. Watkins was the only true superstar college wideout of the group. You would think for WR's it would be easier to determine the best of a recruiting class. Also, except for Watkins, the other 3 were not 1st round picks

I think it kinda makes sense that HS WR's are hard to scout. First of all, route running and understanding coverages doesn't matter at all in HS if you are a blue-chip athlete, but that's going to be a HUGE key to your success as you go up the next two levels.

You think about these guys coming from HS powerhouses, they are more physically developed than the opposition, they probably have a great HS QB throwing to them, and then they get to college and who knows who their QB is (Diggs, for example) and suddenly they're being defended by division 1 athletes. It's a different world going up that level.
