Obama apparently captured 52% of the vote amongst those making 200K+ a year.

Why is that hard for people to believe that people that earn over $200K per year voted for him?

Everyone has a different past that influnces their decisons...Safe to say that many people (myself included) who had nothing and relied on government help to make us the success we are today. Safe to assume those folks all voted for Obama...those numbers will only grow over time

So are you saying that the vote is is just going to keep going and those clowns that he identified as needing to pay more are going to keep racking up? I think the vote ended on the 4th.

Or....are you saying that the Dem party is going to perpetually grow the free money vote and it will always vote for Dems? If so, that's pathetic, but probably true. It should piss an American off that a political party is buying votes by giving away money for nothing in return.

Obama also only garnered 1.7 million more votes than Bush did in 2004 while McCain received about 6 million fewer votes than Bush '04. Voter turnout was no better than 2004.

The numbers look like:

2004
Bush: 62,040,610
Kerry: 59,028,444

2008
Obama: 65,340,608
McCain: 57,358,053

This is according to wikipedia, but there vote totals, electoral count, etc. seem to usually be OK (and I confirmed the 2008 numbers using CNN). It appears that the voter turnout only increased by about 1.6 million voters. But, if these numbers are right, Obama had 3.3 million more than Bush did on 04..and McCain had 4.7 million fewer.

Did your numbers include recent results from MO and NC, MG?

It's hard to believe because democrats simply do not catch the majority of that demographic, ever

Not what I said at all....what I am clearly saying is that there are several folks that make a lot of money that have had different upbrings than others and feel its a moral reposnsibilty to give back, just as they have recieved...at least that's how I feel...and I am not alone...We don't make up a lot of the vote, but we do have a lot of influnce in our jobs and communites...it trickes down

are you saying that captures 50% of the above 200K crowd. I know a lot of those folks and they give to the community in big ways, but don't advocate it through gov't coercion. Most are smart enough to understand that gov't hand in the pie is the least efficient form of charity on earth. That isn't going to change because Obama said he's willing to be an even larger charity.

Clealy its not the only factor in the above 50% number. Are you saying that it does not plat a part in the number? If so, then we will have to agree to disagree..

sure it has a part in the number, but I'm arguing that it's a small one and I'm arguing that 52% did not vote for Obama.

he did in his second post.

Thanks..I agree, exit polls are not the best indicator.

According to the poll, McCain had 37% of the votes from folks making under $30K....that seems very high. Anyone making under that amount would have nothing to lose, but yet her still gathered up 37%...interesting..
