Offensive Holding Calls in 2023 Season

UT-16
UT Opponents-4

I know some of that is likely due to play style but some of that confirms the reffing bias we have all suspected.

Can we just focus on the lack of discipline and fixing what we can control?

I'm not going to play the victim card.

Not when that isn’t the whole issue.

I say let’s fix the lack of discipline but if you can’t see a bias to a certain extent then idk what to tell you brother

What exactly can we as fans do to control what the team does? We can only complain it's not where it needs to be. How is complaining that the zebras are not where they need to be any different?

"We" obviously can't fix team disciple. Fans can't do much but cheer and complain.

As a fan I'm making a choice to not blame officiating for every loss. Blaming zebra is playing the victim card. Players can't control calls. Coaches can't control calls. They can control discipline, preparation, execution.

My not so humble opinion: Team 2023 lacks discipline, preparation, execution.

VOLS are much improved over 3 years and I'm excited for the future.

Well Heupel can elaborate that with the SEC and the officials during the game. Probably won’t change anything.

And as coach he should raise obvious officiating issues through the correct channels.

BUT, as coach he has huge issues on the team that he has more control over and needs to spend 99% of his energy fixing those.

No one is claiming to be a victim or blaming the officials for the loss today. The Mizzu game wasn't even mentioned.

Tennessee played like poo today and that was the biggest reason they lost. The team and coaches need to focus on what they can control, just as you suggest. But, I have never understood why some fans think that extends to them. It's doesn't IMO. We aren't on the team.

Overall officiating appears to have been biased this year and the numbers bare that out. The AD needs to address it with the league and it's as valid a topic for us to discuss as anything else. We have as much control of officiating as we do play calling.
