Ranking the 25 Best College Basketball Coaches in ’22-’23 – Page 25 – New Arena

Of course this article is click bait. In the opinion of the writer but is worthless in its justification of the list.

CRB in at 17. About right but should be in at 12 when you look at those in front of him.

It you are a Blue Blood you are going to get into the top 10 regardless of the Season.

Self at 1, Few at 3, Calipari at 6. Just to name a few.

25. Lloyd - Az, 24. Davis - UNC, 23. Smart - Marquette, 22. Moser - OK,
21. Howard - Mich, 20. Hamilton - FSU, 19. Oats - AL, 18. Cooley - Prov,
17. Barnes - TN, 16. Altman - Oregon, 15. Huggins-WV, 14. Musselman - Ark,
13. Miller - Xavier, 12. Pearl - AU, 11. Boeheim - Syr, 10. Painter - Purdue,
9. Sampson, Houston, 8. Cronin - UCLA, 7. Pitino - Iona, 6. Calipari - KY,
5. Drew - Baylor, 4. Izzo - Mich St, 3. Few - Gonzaga, 2. Bennett - Virginia,
1. Self - Kansas.

Calipari at 6 is a joke when he’s not gotten top 6 results over the last 7 seasons. If he had one or two tough seasons mixed in that’s fine as that happens to everyone but 7 in a row means you’re no longer a top coach. He used to be but not anymore.

Edit: I’m talking final results in the tournament with Cal and how he’s performed relative to the talent he’s had. Every year he has a top 5 roster and he hasn’t made a FF since 2015. They haven’t won a tournament game since 2019 (1 year there was no tourney). I’m sure some will disagree but those aren’t the results of the 6th best coach unless everyone else is worse.

Self and others have managed to Cheat the system and at number 1 shows the total disregard for the rules. I guess integrity is not part of the process. Some of the Coaches in front of Barnes the game has passed them by. CRB should be in the middle of the pack. But like mentioned previously Calipari at 6 this season is a joke as well as Pearl at 12.

Calipari is a victim of his own success. He constantly gets the top rated players that leave after 1 year for the pro's. I think the teams that make it to the Final Four are going to be players that have some experience and playing time more than one and done teams.

Cal is a glorified recruiter. How in the world is he a victim of anything? He knows full well recruiting those kids there’s more than a 90% chance if they pan out they’re gone.

How long does Rick Pitino stay at Iona before moving on to greener pastures?
