Rogers to return punts:Sophomore Austin Rogers has won the battle to be Tennessee’s punt returner for Saturday’s season opener against California.

Rogers, a David Lipscomb product, beat out Jonathan Hefner and Lucas Taylor during recent practices.

Rogers will also likely see the field Saturday as a wide receiver. He is currently fifth on the Vols’ depth chart.

You talk about a motor. That kid can fly and make great cuts. I look for him to have a stellar UT career.

Just hold on to the ball, Austin, just hold on to the ball.

Yes, it would be nice to have a threat back there that didn't give everybody a shutter every time he actually fielded a punt. We have been on the wrong side of the risk/reward ratio of punt returns for some time.

Have only read postive things about Rogers. Hope this trend continues tomorrow night.

Exactly... that's why I will consider a fair catch a successful punt return.

I also heard that Rogers is the most sure handed when it comes to fielding punts.

And yes, Craig Faulker was and is the man.

I desperately need a #4 Faulkner and/or a #52 Duff throwback jersey.

Solid, disciplined, special teams play would be so nice.....I would love to have the Vols dominate field position.

There are just multiple threads saying the same things. It is becoming a frakas on VolNation.
