I hadn't seen a thread like this but thought not only could it be interesting but could help some people out. Feel free to share your own tips/extensions.

Like Google but loathe Google Instant? Set this URL as your home page.

Ever wanted to easily save a Youtube video that you liked?
Simply change the URL from http://www.youtube.com to ssyoutube.com

Example:
Original link: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q-jAGdD1H8g
Download link: ss.youtube.com/watch?v=Q-jAGdD1H8g

My favorite Chrome extensions:
AdBlock
https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/adblock/gighmmpiobklfepjocnamgkkbiglidom?hl=en-US

Media Downloader
(Downloads any video/audio media outside of Youtube)

New Tab Redirect
Sets a custom URL to load in new tabs. IE has this as a default feature now while Chrome doesn't.

SearchBar (Chrome) Love this extension. You can set any websites search box into SearchBar with clickable icons. Ex. I see a movie I want to know more about, I highlight the text of the movie and SearchBar pops up, I then click the IMBD icon and it searches IMBD for that movie.

When I want to save a youtube vid I go to savevid.com. It lets you save in multiple formats including just audio.

Yes, there are a few sites that will let you do that but all of them want you to install browser plug ins which often times give you malware or at least opens the door to it.

"Savevid Browser Plugin required"

"In order to download videos, you must install the Savevid Browser Plugin"

This trick doesn't require that you download anything.

Relative to VN...

If you're having trouble finding a thread through the VN search engine you can attempt to utilize Google to help you find it instead. Not a guarantee but sometimes it works.

Just go to Google and type in any part of the thread title you might be looking for and just add "volnation" at the end.

Example: Let me google that for you
