Intriguing Statistical Study for Extrapolating Dobbs’ Potential Success

This is a great post. Obviously anything can happen, and Dobbs is certainly a different guy than most of the quarterbacks who come through ANY system (in the IQ department). Statistics rarely lie. After the second half of Saturday's game, I am looking forward to seeing what happens!

As a reliability engineer I want to believe statistics rarely lie, but its just not true...in fact I have a signed copy of a book written by Darnell Huff in 1954 titled 'How to Lie with Statistics'

I graduated from UT in 1974 with a degree in Mechanical Engineering and soon after getting a job was forced by the company that hired me to get several certifications in that arena to meet the demands of a customer....so I am a data miner from way back...I soon learned a how useful it could be, including rather than doing all the exhausting work on a project use some 'creative statistics' to arrive at the conclusions you wanted....I was seldom questioned and never found out....'Jack Welch ain't got nothing on me':)

If the fans will quickly know, would not the coaches who see him practice every day know even sooner?

And if he has the "right stuff" that gives UT the best chance of winning, why has he been riding the pine?

Good question. The fact is that most/all of us will most likely never know. It's amazing how 100+ kids can keep their mouths shut, but they can.

Not at all saying there is something going on, just that we'll likely never know exactly why Dobbs sat for so long. I'm just going to trust that it was the best decision for the team going forward. I'm certainly in no position to say otherwise.

When Bray came in against USC he had hunter, Rodgers etc... To throw to and never got sacked or pressured in those final four games. Dobbs has no WRs to throw too and a decent run game. I think he will do ok against UM and AU but then the vols have the off week before vandy(senior day) then Kentucky which SHOULD be a win. So might be hard to judge until the bowl game....... If we make it

What subject do you teach?

My extensive calculations show that Dobbs will be dropping something in excess on 500 million metric tons of whoopazz on Mizzou.

If you are going to the game, be prepared to encounter Mizzou fans in states of extreme psychological duress and confusion. This occurs when awaking from a state of cognitive dissonance about your football team's potential. In layman's terms: their bubble is going to burst.

Apply taunts gently and repeatedly on order to help Mizzou fans reawaken to their true position in the SEC pecking order.

Do not mention Dobbs or McCullers by name, though, as this could trigger post-traumatic stress reactions.

So's as we're walkin' outta thuh stadium we kin say things to Mizzou fans like:

Don't feel so bad, it wuzn't no gut squirtin frog stompin we put on you, it wuz just we whupped yore azz.

Matty didn't have to come to Mountain McCullers, thuh Mountain come to him.

Yu'all need to add a course on Dobbsonian Trajectories fer yer DB's an safties.

An be kind an hep em down thuh ramps what is slick with all them burst bubbles.

That what you mean?
