1. Each team’s starting value will be their win total from last season

2. Each team’s ending value will be their final win total from this season

3. Your points will be the difference between the two

4. You must pick five teams

5. The total wins from 2023 of your five teams must equal at least 20

6. Any FBS school is eligible to be picked

7. On October 1st and November 1st there will be an opportunity to trade any or all of your teams for other teams
-Players that use this option will incur a one-point penalty per trade

8. If anything weird happens throughout the season (cancelled games, schedule shift, etc), I will be sole arbiter of how to fairly proceed. The appeal process is as follows:
A. STFU
B. You were probably going to lose anyways

9. All picks are due no later than 11:59 pm on August 23rd, 2024.

10. Post your picks in this thread or email me at ron_mexico66@yahoo.com

Example using the 2022 vs 2023 seasons:

2022 Tennessee 11 Wins
2022 UCLA 9 Wins
2022 Rutgers 4 Wins
2022 Georgia 15 Wins
2022 Northwestern 1 Win

2023 Tennessee 9 wins
2023 UCLA 8 Wins
2023 Rutgers 7 Wins
2023 Georgia 13 Wins
2023 Northwestern 8 Wins

Result:

Tennessee -2
UCLA -1
Rutgers +3
Georgia -2
Northwestern +7

Total Score: 5 points

Why would anyone switch teams on 10/1? I'd just wait until 11/1 and find the 5 teams that have outperformed their prior season the most.

That would cost you 5 pts to make substitutions, fox, and we'd still be following the 20 wins from 23. In the end, you still couldnt sub a 1win team from 23 that had won say 7 games by 11-1(if the 1 win team took you under 20)

3) Your points will be the difference between the two.

So fewer year over year wins count the same as more year over year wins?

Edit: I guess the example indicates a net increase in wins. I thiught I’d finally found a use for absolute values that I was taught in junior high school.

not how I interpret it
look at the + and - in the example above for the 5 points
Edit: Tennessee and Georgia lost a combined four points for fewer wins from the previous year

Yes. “Difference” in rule #3 would be less confusing if it was “increase” instead.

It could add more teams to the mix by declaring if the selections are either increases or decreases. Pick which teams from last year either increase the most or decrease the most. Michigan would be a good choice.
