Undefeated or not, they are not a top 20 team. I don't know how they can be 13th and Auburn not in the top 25 at all. They beat Northern Iowa by 1 point after blocking two field goals. And today they beat Arkansas State by 3. Both games played at Kinnick. That's pretty unbelievable. They beat Penn State but Penn State like Ole Miss are proof of why preseason polls are ridiculous. Penn State beat Akron, Temple and Syracuse. Iowa reaps the benefits of beating a top 10 team. Sure... except Penn State is not a top 10. They lost so many key players from last years team. You can say they have Clark at QB but he appears to suck now that his top three wide receivers are gone.

So... everyone went on about how overrated Ole Miss was. What about Iowa though? At least Ole Miss lost to an SEC opponent on the road. It was only by 6. Here you have Iowa struggling at home against an FCS team and a Sunbelt team. Pretty gross.

LSU is the most overrated team in the country right now. Nevertheless, they will be georgia today.

Only because they are ranked higher than Iowa. I don't think LSU should be 4th but I think they destroy Iowa. Struggling with Washington and Mississippi State is far more acceptable than struggling with UNI and Ark St. Not to mention both of those games for LSU were on the road and both of those games for Iowa were at home.

No doubt in my mind that LSU is a much better team than Iowa.

Basically rankings suck. Thus the need for playoff system.

Well... I can't really argue with that.

Haha. I really don't know if you were being serious or if that was sarcasm. All I know is that Iowa should not be 13th while Auburn isn't in the top 25 at all. We'll never know if Auburn should have been in the top 25 because they are going to lose today. :p

Seriously though... if Auburn wins at Neyland today, they should jump Iowa. I doubt that would happen though.

Also, if Iowa(they'll at least lose to Ohio State) and Boise State both go undefeated... Boise State should get the higher bowl bid. Even if it's the championship.

Did I just miss the Hawkeyes beating Penn State in University Park?

They did but you're assuming Penn State is good. What makes Penn State good? Their ranking is based off last year. They lost their top three wide receivers to the draft. They've beaten Akron, Temple and Syracuse. Which of those wins impresses you the most? This isn't last year and Penn State isn't even close to being as good as they were last year. Clark looks average without those wide receivers.

That's like saying South Carolina is amazing because they beat Ole Miss. As we all know, Ole Miss looks like crap compared to last year and they were only ranked so high because of last years success.

An excellent QB, RB, and offense, combined with a great defense?

They don't have an excellent QB or Offense.... QB and offense were only good when they had three wide receivers that were good enough to play in the NFL. They are all gone now. Do you think 9tds 6ints are numbers from an excellent quarterback? It wasn't against good opponents either. The three teams I listed earlier and Iowa.

31 against Akron. 31 against Temple. 28 against Syracuse. You'd think they would score more than 31 against one of those teams if their offense or even defense were that great. 21-10 loss against Iowa is just sad. I am sorry but Penn State in my opinion is not very good. Arkansas State and Northern Iowa lost by a combined 4 points to Iowa. You can think that Iowa and Penn State are good. That's fine. I'll agree to disagree because I think they are both bad.

There, fyp

At least until mid October. I am not a fan of the preseason polls and the impact it has on the season. Release the first polls in the final monday of October or first monday of November and it would be a lot better.

I'm fine with that idea too. there needs to be someway as well to balance out the fact that the pollsters pay more attention to what happened last week than what happened overall in the season

Penn State is actually struggling with 1-2 Illinois right now. Missouri beat them 37-9 and Ohio State beat them 30-0. It's 0-0 and Illinois has the ball with 2 minutes left in the 1st quarter. Clark is 4/8 for 25 yards.

Plenty of time for Penn State to whoop them and Clark to put some big numbers up but so far Penn State is kind of proving my point that they aren't that great.

7-3 Penn State at the half.

As bad as Penn State is, I like JoePa. He's a good guy.

Haha. Why don't you like Joe Pa? I guess I could see people not liking him but he seems nice enough. I am sure being older has a little to do with that. The past few years he just seems like he is happy to be alive. I guess we all would be if we were doing something we love for a living and had a bunch of money in the bank. :p

I have nothing against JoePa, on a personal level. However, just hearing from a former player there kind of changed my perspective on him as a coach.

Ahh. Gotchya. How long ago was that? If it was recent then there isn't much you could say to that. If it was a while back, he seemed like he used have an edge. I don't know, just listening to him talk the past couple of years it just seems like he realizes there is more to life than football. Like I said though, if your friend endured it recently then it's probably just an act for the camera's or something. People do change though so who knows.

Think Larry Johnson-era..............

Actually, he probably was a little jealous of Mr. Johnson. But, still, I'll trust the former player's opinion of a coach over my own.
