Has anyone on here tried it out? I've been really tempted to get it before but want some first hand reviews on it. From what I've seen it seems to be really realistic.

I haven't but I have played NASCAR Racing 2003 Season with updates, which is similar. It's a lot of fun but I'm guessing iRacing is a lot more realistic.

I would like to check it out but my interest isn't high enough to justify a good gaming rig and a legitimate wheel & pedal setup.

If you have a wheel, go for it. There is a bit of a learning curve, but once you get the feel for it, it's can be fun.

Or the most aggravating way to spend your time. Nothing worse than starting at the back (lack of time to qualify), passing everyone cleanly, and then getting ran over by an idiot who then blames you. It really is either the best time you can have racing online or just a waste of time, there was no middle for me. It all depends on who you race against. I think I recently received an email from them for three months for $12. That might be worth it to give it a shot. I would caution you, that it can get expensive purchasing tracks and cars.

That has always been one of the things holding me back. I really don't want to pay because I would have to have at minimum the Sprint Cup, Nationwide, Trucks, and IndyCar car sets and tracks.

Download NR2003, and rFactor and find mods for them. The only thing that iRacing has that's more realistic is laser scanned tracks. You don't need iRacing.

One of my simracing buddies just made a new IndyCar mod for rFactor that is by far one of the best mods I've ever played. There's tons of NASCAR stuff for NR2003 and that game has pretty much the same physics for the ovals, and iRacing's road course physics are junk.
