OPEC head says price of oil would skyrocket if war breaks out between Israel and Iran and that's just because of a loss of Iranian production. I've also read that Iran says it will try to shut down the Strait of Hormuz to try to meddle with the world oil supply.

Thoughts? Does this mean we ought to try to reel Israel in or should we go ahead and support, if not participate in, efforts to block Iran's nuclear program?

A Hobbsian choice, to be sure. On the one hand, Iran with nuclear capability seems a recipe for disaster down the road. On the other, seems like the world economy could be junked if the price of oil tripled overnight.

Good thing we've spent 25+ years keeping our hands off our own natural resources. Great planning.

If war does break out over there oil will go up, but I just don't think we would let Iran block up the Strait of Hormuz.

Time for an emergency meeting between Israel, Iran and US. Please get Pelosi on the first flight over to Tehran, she'll solve this.

None of us will have any need for oil after Iran gets nuclear weapons and sets forth to bring out the hidden Imam. Just listen to the statements their government is putting out. They believe they have the lead role in bringing about the destruction of Israel and western culture.

I just hope none of this happens before we can get Obama elected. If all this can just be held off until that happens, then he will fix all!

Good Lord yes! He'll be Secretary of State I would imagine under Obamit. I love this. I am considering going the OE route and not voting for McCain. I swear any canidate that acknowledges global warming as fact really turns my stomach.
