Will there be a backlash against DC insiders? If so, who is the leading outsider? And are the so-called outsiders actually outsider enough?

Define outsider though as it pertains to Presidential candidates. I know you don't need a history lesson, but unless we have the option of a sitting VP (or in the case of Nixon a former VP) in the past 50+ years, America has tended to elect Govenors who are mostly "outsiders" propped up by insiders.

Well Obama, Clinton, McCain are considered the insiders while Mitt, Rudy, and even Edwards (according to the talking heads) are the outsiders.

Some would consider Newt an outsider but considering he lives inside the Beltway and has a DC consulting firm, I'd beg to differ. GA's favorite PA adopted politician is a VA/DC insider whether he will admit it or not.

It is going to take at least $300 million to compete wire to wire. It's hard to imagine any outsider raising that kind of money.
