is anyone really upset with this loss?

I'm glad that Bama is doing well in some ways. The SEC as a whole isn't doing well, and I'd prefer to keep the title in the conference, rather than see a FSU-Oregon NC game.

(I know I will get flamed for that, but recruits know, if you wanna win a championship, you come to the SEC. You wanna play with the best? You come to the SEC. I still despise losing to Alabama, but I'm prideful of the fact that we are a part of the best conference in the world, and I'd like to keep it that way.)

Realistic expectation prior to the game was at least a four touchdown loss. That being the case, this game simply demonstrated that Alabama in 2013 is much better than Tennessee in 2013.

F n yes losing is one thing get n your azz handed to you is all different...F!!!!!!

Of course I'm upset. Any REAL Vol fan will ALWAYS be upset by losing to Alabama.

Having said that, I think we all realistically knew that it was extremely unlikely we could win this game. It's still upsetting though.

No. Not the loss. Sort of unhappy with the margin and the fact that they continued to play Worley after it was obvious he couldn't grip the ball consistently. But I never held out much hope of winning this one.

You're a liar or a bad fan if you aren't upset. I know there's reasons and excuses but you don't have to take an ass whooping to Bama with smiles. Jones will get us back, but the team was garbage today.

Expected a loss... but not to be down by 14 six minutes in, down by five TDs at halftime and never even remotely competitive from the very first play of the game. This was a regression, and that was very disappointing to see.

Like many, I hoped that we could pull a win or keep it very close. I did think that we would lose but would fight until the final minute regardless of the score. We didn't. It was mailed in my the coaching staff in the third quarter. When the towel was thrown in, I quit watching.

I'm surprised that you have TV in Nutopia :)

it is going to be a long road to get back to where CPF had the Vols, but the Vols are on the right road,I know people are tiered of hearing it,but it is going to take time and a lot of great recruiting

which the staff is doing,as in another 4 or 5 years to get it all in place, there isn't going to be a 2 or 3 year fix for it,i do hope i am wrong, but i doubt it

I just realized that I was correct at the beginning of the year when I first posted what I thought we would have as a record. I predicted 8-4, with us being 4-4 after game 8. I will admit that I am more worried about Mizzou on the road than I am Auburn in Neyland.

i do agree with you,the SEC is doing what they usually do,killing each other with some great football, which is the norm in the SEC

everybody knows that it helps, with recruiting to have a SEC team play for the national championship and to win all the bowl games that they can, even if you hate that team

If that's the matchup then I'm with you. No freaking way I ever root for Bama and I question the devotion of any self proclaimed Volfan who does.

I question the sanity of ANYONE who claims to be a southern born and bred southern boy who would root for a Left-Coaster over the SEC champions......just don't understand why there's no devotion for the SEC....You don't have to say roll tide, or anything else--just want the southern boys to stomp any and everyone else's butt...:salute:

we LOST BY five touchdowns and looked like chumps doing it. The Bama Nation showed mercy= they couldhave made it 70-3 if they had wanted. O Line was terrible, problems lining up , poor angles of pursuit, bad tacking, got out-hit, etc. etc. Big step back.

It's a sad commentary on the state of the program that it's expected to lose to Alabama and 35 point losses are considered OK by the fanbase.

Look....I get it. Alabama is much better. It is not an excuse for their offense to go through this defense like a knife through soft butter though.

But it's time for this fan base to grow a set of b-lls and expect better from the team.

Ok so what should we do? Get on VN and start screamin that everybody needs to be run out of town. I would love to hear from you what we, as fans, should do.

The forum tonight is virtually devoid of negative ranting an raving. That's practically unheard of. Yes we're upset, but the sky is in fact still intact.

Not upset at all. If we had the talent and depth that bama has, then yes, I would be very upset, but right now we do not. Our day is coming soon though.
Now I'm ready for Missouri.

I was upset we weren't competitive early on, then realized we were getting steamrolled by a vastly superior team.

Not upset at all, we have TWO players from Kiffen's class from 2009, on the team and even one from Fulmer's last class. I expect the return visit to Bama will be different in 2 years. I thought TN might at least cover, but to expect TN to win against Bama at Tuscaloosa, this year is insane.

Yeah, I'm sure Yankee fans are rooting for the Red Sox in the world series...

I don't get this notion of conference pride (if it's regional, wouldn't you just as likely root for FSU?). It seems pretty unique to college football (and I don't really hear it so much anywhere else but among supposed UT fans). I mean, Packer fans don't generally root for the Bears to win the Super Bowl. Tottenham fans weren't cheering on Chelsea in the Champion's League final.

I want us to win. I want our rivals to lose. It's pretty simple.

The only thing I am disappointed with is we played like we had something to lose.

I did not see one blitz all night, mccrying had all night to throw the ball, we got zero pressure, hell if your front four cant get pressure send more. I thought we should have played tight man and sent the house on obvious passing situations.

Our Dline and Linebackers were manhandled, it looked like men playing kids for most of the night.

We played flat with no emotion, I do not know if the last two games had took its toll or what but when you are playing the number 1 team in the country, one of your biggest rivals and on the national stage and you cant get fired something is wrong.

The main reason we lost the red team had much much much more talent all over the field then we did and it goes back to we do not have SEC speed on defense. I have never seen a Tennessee Defense this slow and some of the bad angles did not help the cause.

I actually think we can win out if and it is a big if we play with the same passion as in the GA and SC game.

Screw bama, florida, lsu, auburn or anyone else from the SEC who is playing in the NC game, it is hard enough to recruit against them now much less if they are winning NC. The SEC has won 8 in a row, I thinks it is time for bama to lose one.

Couple of positives:

* We averaged 4.5 rushing yards per carry, and Neal averaged 5.4.

* We had no negative yardage in the run game.

* North had 87 yards receiving against a great defense. No one is going to stop this guy now that the lights are on.

* Devrin Young did a great job in the return game.

* Punting was incredible.

* McCullers was strong in the middle against the run and hurried some throws.

* Worley's thumb cost us a 14 point swing at the end of the first half, but if you look at the game stats we really we not as bad as the score. If we score there and go into the break 28 - 7 instead of 35-0 . . . we probably lose 38 - 17, but still.

* I think this team is not broken in body or spirit and has a chance to win each of the last 4 games. I could not say that the last 3 years.

I can see people being upset. I hate any loss. Now being delusional and upset because they expected Tennessee to suddenly shrug of 5 years of mediocrity and make this game a David and Goliath situation..that would just be crazy.

Stop posting threads asking if anyone is really upset with a blowout loss for starters.

Second thing to do is to stop putting words in anyone's mouth figuratively speaking that dares to think all is not roses and kittens after a blowout loss.

I wasn't screaming a single thing about anyone getting run out of town moron.

And finally...GFYO. that would be a helpful as well.
