Is BC for real?

They have looked good through three games, albeit cupcake games. AJ Dillon is a man among boys. Dude will probably go top 5 in the draft.
In another year. Like even more than Barkley. Great story also.

I think they have a really good chance of starting out 7-0 or 6-1. Brown and Dillon have brought another dimension to their offense.

Too soon to tell. They are one of many teams that could win the first 7 and then lose several at the end.

Real for BC, not a threat to unseat Clemson. right now they are probably number three in the ACC, four at worst.

Way too small of a sample size. The win over Wake on the road is nice, but two of their three wins are against UMass (one of the worst programs in FBS) and Holy Cross (a bad FCS school). Looking at their schedule, they could easily lose 6 out of their last 7 games.

Has BC ever been really relevant in football? The only time I can ever recall hearing anything significant about them was way back in 2008 when they lost to Vanderbilt in the Music City Bowl.

Doug Flutie’s Hail Mary kinda is all I remember about their past in my lifetime.

I remember freezing my butt off at the Liberty Bowl in 83 when they played ND. 10 degrees at kick off. Mike Golic blocked a punt if I remember correctly.

Remember when they beat us in the 80’s and when we got past them in the Hall of Fame Bowl (Fulmer’s first game as named HC). Their TE Pete Mitchell tore us up! Had a very good NFL career with the Jaguars. And to another point by another poster? They’ve been good fairly recently...25-7 under Matt Ryan.

Tom Coughlin was their coach at the HoF Bowl...I think.

Well what’s your definition of relevant? They’ve been a very solid program for a few decades. Tom Coughlin did a very good job there and parlayed that success into landing the Jacksonville job. Tom O’Brien won nine games in four out of his last five seasons there. Really, outside of the disaster that was Frank Spaziani, they’ve been a very respectable program.

That was my first awareness of him. He was with the Parcells Giants teams before then and it was mentioned frequently.
