If this were 100 years ago, Les would be the guy everyone called Colonel Miles, or simply, the Colonel. He'd be known as the man who strolled about town wearing a military sash, a medal or two, sometimes wearing a dented pot over his head, sometimes a captain's hat, sometimes just a stuffed parakeet on his shoulder, and who held court at least twice a week in the afternoon in the middle of the town square. And yes, the man in the old mansion in need of both upkeep and repair who only bothers having his lawn taken care of once a year (although his neighbors secretly keep up the grounds more regularly to prevent it from being an eyesore).
