Is Game of Thrones the best show on TV?

I haven't read the books; I was shocked when they took Ned Stark's head in Series 1.

I've got to say, I did not see this week's action coming either and it might have been even more dramatic. So many surprises.

However, I don't know if I should continue watching it. The show makes me want to see a 12 year old girl kill a bunch of folk.

Is there a better show on television? I'm late to the party, but I'm playing catch-up on The Americans. Right now, it's the only thing even close.

IMO Breaking Bad is easily the best show on TV and its not even close.

Game of Thrones and Walking Dead are tied for a very distant 2nd.

Game of Thrones and Breaking Bad are both 1a and 1b for me. The sheer intensity of breaking bad is hard to match.

I love Game of Thrones. But it's so hard to pick between it and Boardwalk Empire and Breaking Bad. Gotta throw Walking Dead and Mad Men in the mix as well. I love AMC's lineup.

As many have already said, until BB is finished it will be the best on now. I am still very impressed by Mad Men, though I know many think it has fallen off.

Also, I personally would probably consider Justified to be better as well, but I know not too many people would probably agree with that pick.

I came to post that Justified is the best show on television. I wholeheartedly agree.
