Serious question. Ohio State over Cincy??? Even Jon Wilner, of all people, got his ballot right.

Cecil Hurt also has tOSU over Cincinnati. I'm not sure to what extent I disagree. Cincy's SOS is so poor that they really need to earn style points every week. Having to get a late pick to seal a win over 1-win Navy is the opposite of earning style points.

it's a shame they don't play this year. They often do. ohio state has the stars, but honestly cinci is a cohesive, well coached team, that brings it every single week. I think it's a shame that ohio st. has nebraska down the stretch, because that's basically another bye.

If this past Saturday qualifies as "bringing it," Cincy is screwed.

last week was an outlier and you know it. That was navy's super bowl, and cinci is a tall team. Any other team would have gone down hard. I would go watch the indiana game. It was so hot the coach and players were puking on the sidelines. The coach had to go to the tent and rehydrate, yet they did their job. Thing about cinci is they win games they should lose.. consistently. They don't buy into the hype talk. They do their job, and they are experienced upper classmen. They are dependable. It's a good argument, and they may yet meet in the post season.

The real injustice will be if 1 loss B1G Champ Ohio State gets in over 1 loss PAC 12 Champ Oregon. If this happens, coupled with an undefeated Cincy team getting left out, go ahead and start making plans for 12 team CFP next season. I wouldn’t be surprised if that were setup.

Well then they don't bring it "every single week," do they?
The majority of really good teams will have an off or trap game. Cincinnati survived their's...Bama didn't. The Tide had no business losing to two loss A&M. The aggys are also looking at another possible two losses to Auburn and Ole Miss.

It happens.

I dont know about often. They have played 13 times in more than 100 years. Their only win was back in 1896. Yes, that's 1896.

Cecil Hurt used to live on the same block as I did growing up. I remember riding bicycles around the neighborhood with him when we were something like 12 years old.

Cecil is a really clever, funny guy. He's been very kind to me and given me solid advice.

More on Cecil below. I hit the wrong button here and it posted about half of what I was saying. What key did I hit Freak to do that?

I didn't realize his fame and back before Finebaum was really famous and just on the radio around here, he'd get a plug from Cecil about every day. Those were good times, during the Mike years (Dubose, Shula, Price). Finebaum fun to listen to with Bama on the ropes. (and come on Bamawriter, you gotta relate to that.. sort of like hanging out here with us on the ropes.. am I right?)

So one day I emailed him. I said, "Hey Cecil - do you remember me over there at Westlawn jr.high?" and he emailed back and said "Sure do, and your brother too!" and of course there was a couple of other warm accolades back and forth for a while. I never knew Ol' Cecil had entrenched himself so well as the Bama beat reporter. I always liked him, but understand, he's not 12 anymore like he was in the hood.
