Is the host team for regionals always the home team and always in the first base dugout at LNS?

Trying to figure out where to sit for the rest of the weekend.

Thanks. I see that now. So the first three posts in the thread deliver three different answers. Solid.

It doesn’t matter IMO, Vols are hosting IN Lindsey Nelson with a sea of orange fans in the stands. Might as well be a home game.

The higher seeded team should be the home team unless the higher seeded team is coming out of the loser's bracket and facing a team that's coming out of the winner's bracket IMO. So we should've had last at-bat yesterday, but Liberty should be the home team against Duke today because Duke has been in the loser's bracket and Liberty is dropping in from the winner's bracket. Also, we should be the home team whoever we play tonight, but if that team beats us, maybe make them the home team for tomorrow. It's really not that hard to figure out how to do it so it makes sense. A coin flip is ludicrous.

Today’s game we are away again, no coin flip. If tomorrow happens we’d be home. That’s the advantage a #1 seed gets.

In this participation trophy era, makes total sense. Who cares how you performed in the regular season, we wouldn’t want to be unfair to teams with a worse resume.
