Is it Time for Georgia and Mark Richt to Part Ways?

I live in Georgia also, and these fans are fuming.

Are we rooting for him to go or not? I know he's underachieving overall in comparison to their talent, but he has a decent record against us.

He's a lot like Fulmer. Some success awhile back, but now every year includes at least two underperforming games and permanent also-ran status. You can't quite say he's completely terrible, but fact is he's just never gong to put them back on top.

I'm not sure another SEC team would give him a chance at HC. Ran out on you guys after embarrassing you with his false claims against Meyer and then fired from the job he left you for. Any AD that hires him as the head of a program is taking a huge risk because if it doesn't work the fans would say you could see it from a mile away.

Go to Spotify and play 'another one bites the dust' if he loses one more or the bowl. GT could be his gravedigger.

We need Richt to stay at Georgia as long as he wants. You can always count on Georgia pulling a Georgia at least once per season, which usually helps the Vols in some way. Georgia would be deadly with a Saban/Meyer/elite coach, no thanks.

Would be just a stellar move to fire your coach the same year Miami, Virginia Tech, South Carolina, USC, and more are looking for coaches. Wait til 2016.

UGA would be at worst, the 2nd best opening this year and in all likelihood it's the best. UGA should have the pick of the litter.

Last year he lost Gurley - this year Chubb -- kind of tough to blame the whole thing on him but he didnt recruit any decent QBs to replace Murray when he should have.

UGA is nearly as intriguing as USC, and it would be the most intriguing position, east of the Mississippi. Plus, whoever took that job would be inheriting a talented roster.

In our current CFB hot seat culture, I believe this will be the norm. Teams firing coaches 2-3 games into the year and multiple job openings.

Crazy how Georgia and Bama completely missed on QB recruiting from 2011-2014. Not one of those guys has panned out so far.

Throw in LSU also -- neither of their QBs is world beaters -- Though UGA had Mettenberger until he got drunk

It really is hard to figure. Christian Lemay, Hutson Mason, Brice Ramsey etc have all failed to progress. And with an o-line and RBs like they've had, they aren't even asking the QB to do much.

Brandon Harris is pretty solid so far as a true sophomore. 3rd in the nation in 3rd down efficiency. Bama and Georgia would kill for that right now.

If UGA splits with Richt, I would bet the house that they would make a strong move towards getting Smart.

And I'd love that cause I think it would set them back years

Just heard

Just seen a thread started by an insider saying Richt was worn down and contemplating retiring at the end of the season.

Fine by me, all the commits on the fence we're fighting for would get alot easier!

I hope Mark Richt retires as UGA coach and they hire Lane Kiffin or Colorado State Coach Mike Bobo. It would be fun to see Tennessee kick UGA'a arse every season.

Let the new coach do his job and stay the hell out of the way. Loosen our drug policy and meet with the local cops to get them on our side. Sick of all this crap getting in our way.

Lol. Apparently this is what is holding them back.
