I am seeing this rumour all over cfb boards today. Obviously, that would put Miles in play. If Tubbs goes to A&M and Nutt is fired, that's at least 3 SEC openings at schools where you can compete for C-ships. Any chance Cut gets a look at any of them?

I believe he is regardless of how the season plays out for Michigan.

Do you see Cutcliffe in Arkansas or Auburn? No, I believe they go after a younger guy.

Muschamp might get the nod at Auburn.

Pelini (depending on Nebraska) or Jimbo Fisher at LSU

And I have no idea about Arkansas. All Hog fans say Butch Davis, but I don't see it.

Yeah, I don't see Davis leaving UNC after one year. The Tarheels did not flinch through his cancer diagnosis and I think that probably bought his loyalty for a time.

Yeah I know.

If, and I believe he will, Carr retires, it sets off a wheel of changes. It will be fun to watch.

I can't be sure if he is retiring or not, but if Michigan doesn't win on Saturday, he won't be allowed to come back.

Brian at MGOBlog is the guy who first reported it, and he's pretty money on anything Michigan, so yes, Carr is retiring.

I still think Michigan is screwing up big time if they hire Les Miles. They need a great coach who can keep Michigan up with Ohio State. I can't see Miles doing that at Michigan.

No coach has been able to keep Michigan up with Buckeyes of late.Miles will probably opt out of his LSU contract since Michigan coaching job is in his contract.

Lloyd Carr has been the only Michigan coach of late. By late I mean since when Tressel took over.

On 104.5 this morning one of the announcers, maybe Mark Howard?, indicated that he heard Carr wanted to leave last year but he returned for two reasons. First, Henne and Hart probably would've left for the NFL if Carr had not come back. Second, Carr leveraged some sweet deals for his assistants by coming back this year.

I heard something similar as well. I would bet the rent money he's done. Also would bet the rent money Miles leaves LSU the next day. His interview on the Rome show was standard answers to the question. "I am focused on the game this week. I love it here", etc. Never did he say Yes I will go to UM or Yes I will be at LSU next year. Guess he didn't want to be a Sabanite.
