Florida fired Grantham and OL coach today. If the season keeps going south for the Mighty Gators, surely Dandy Dan is the next to go. Will his dismissal be a positive or negative for UT (aside from the general hatred many on this board have for Mullen)?
Would we prefer he hang around and drag the program down another couple of years, or to have a new coach there and couple of years of rough transition (and possibility of worse hire)?

Once Urban is fired from Jacksonville, he’ll come back to Florida.

Maybe our Gator friends who frequent our board with their eloquent posts, will do the honor of posting their thoughts...............

Florida has about as much luck as we do in hiring coaches. Muschump, McIlwayne etc. so its a tossup for me. They can do worse than Mullen. Its been unfortunate for us that when they have a bad coach ours is equally as bad or worse but I'm not sure they can top Heupel.

I think the odds favor worse football if they fire him. My opinion; their historical fraction of championship-winning coaches is low, as it must be for all universities. You would think the first one in Florida to start acting like somebody is going to vacuum up all the recruits. Frankly I thought that was already Florida. FSU and Miami have been a laughing stock of college football. I don't see how you can fail to recruit in that environment. So I guess I am saying he better hurry up.

I'm a total skeptic of this idea that you can hire "the guy". But then again it's not my money. If I was a billionaire (after I invented the pet rock), I might be calling the AD every day saying "why haven't you hired 'the guy'?"

Exhibit A: Both Oregon and FSU hired Willie Taggart. You did not dream that. It actually happened in real life.

Not sure how long he stays but this makes our loss to them look worse than it was in October. I firmly believe we are a much better team now and they have gone backwards but we shouldn’t have lost as badly as we did.

Too bad we can’t get a redo on that one! Lol

Their crap coaches beat our best coaches.
Don't get excited until we get it done.
And firing the assistants works sometimes. Worked for Bob Stoops when he fired Heupel, andlucked into Lincoln RIley.

I hope not. Florida is going to eventually fall face first into an elite coach. It’s Florida. I hope they keep Mullen another few years. Give us more time to right the ship.

I think Mullen can be that guy to have them around the top of the east every year. I think they're feeling the effects of not having a consistently good QB. To me that's all the problem there. If their QB situation is better this year then they would not be 4-5.

Mullen? don't know. I would pick them to go after Chadwell.

Kiffin seems like a "logical" "Miles 2.0" and would fit at LSU....

However, I struggle to think he can truly leave Ole Miss after this season. The man has GOT to stay somewhere... for some amount of time... before the vibe created by him leaving everywhere takes a literal form, comes to life, and straight up murders his career.

He won’t be fired this season. Firing coordinators usually buys a HC one more season.

Agreed. However, I can't think of a situation where sacrificing coordinators has reversed the downward trajectory of a team in the long term. It kind of seems like prolonging the inevitable to me.

Disagree. Florida was a better team then. A whole lot better than it is now. In fact this is the only season where I'd agree with those Vol fans who complain about the timing of our game. If we played this weekend you'd win it.
