Is next month really Spring practice?

It can’t get here fast enough.
Is there really that much to get excited about as far as battles go?

Just me, but unless there's a legit QB battle, it's usually just a lot of fluff and hyping up young guys that hardly do much off the bat. Just sayin. Guess I've become numb to them over the years. Lots of talk that doesn't materialize, in both directions - worries and positive hype. Just look at our OL last year vs the concerns.

You are largely correct, but when you are starved for football information/content it is a welcome oasis for most fans.

the entire secondary is open. There is not 1 locked position back there. WB should be back, BYU transfer, Haddens mouth, Wesley start at safety ?

Please, let this be true…the entire secondary being open.
I believe it will be true. I don't see one single DB that has a lock on a starting position, though I see quite a few who should be in the mix. I am very eager to see glimpses of how this plays out, even though we won't know the first game starters at the end of Spring.

I mean, if someone doesn't care to follow the development and growth of young players ... why bother to follow college sports at all?

For the last 13 years upcoming spring training is been like meh. It’s nice to be excited again. Hell, I may ride over to the O/W game 😆…probably not but I’ll definitely watch it on television.

Hasn't O&W game been announced for April 15th?

If so, that should put start of spring camp right around March 20 or 21.

Listen to this and draw your own conclusions. (Not your typical coach speak)

Yeah there is. I want to see some got dang defensive players competing instead of riding the pine or running their mouths incessantly.

I also want to see who takes over on the OL.

And I want to see these young pass rushers. Can they turn into SEC caliber players?

Lots to look at

The number of EE's and portal additions create a lot of learning opportunities for the the squad and staff. Especially when one is highly decorated QB and 7 0r 8 DB's show up with our needs back there.

This is the first year I've found myself chewing my nails while watching game reruns. Of course, that could be age-related.

A lot of the positive stuff materialized last year, that's for sure. Excited to see the new guys in the secondary. Defense in general will be interesting to watch. We've also got some athletes on the offense that will be exciting to see. And then there's Nico. Everybody will want to see lots of video about him. Not that there will be a battle, but it'll be fun to watch. OL and DL are just too hard to project based off spring practice alone.
