Not sure how they arrived at their conclusions, but here's a link with a summary of the results below. According to PolitiFact, he actually made over 500 promises during his campaign.

Is Obama Keeping His Promises? | Newsweek Politics | Newsweek.com

1. Foreclosure prevention fund - promise kept (though many would agree that funds also went to those who shouldn't have received them based on Obama's "intent")
2. Repeal Bush tax cuts - in the works
3. Health insurance coverage for all children - in the works
4. Build an electronic health information system - in the works
5. Assure the VA budget is prepared as "must pass" - in the works
6. End the war in Iraq within 6 months - in the works
7. Deploy additional troops to Afghanistan - promise kept (this is a big FAIL).
8. Close Guantanamo Bay - in the works
9. End the use of torture - in the works
10. New rules barring paid lobbyists - promise broken
11. Require full disclosure and a waiting period for earmarks - compromise (political spin for promise broken)
12. Create tough new financial regulations - in the works (also known as socialism)
13. Provide path to citizenship for undocumented immigrants - stalled (more political spin for promise broken)
14. Create 5MM new "green industry" jobs - in the works (I guess handing out green$ to the folks in Detroit counts)
15. Create a cap-and-trade system to control global warming - in the works

For #1 something like 2/3rds of the people who got changes to their mortgage still ended up defaulting. it's been a complete waste of money.

If it was begin removing troops from Iraq within 6 mos, then that might have happened ... he is an idiot if he promised having all troops withdrawn within 6 mos. That sounds like Hillary Clinton material.

As the father of a soldier, my only child, who has risked his life for his country time and time again for the past ten years or so (beginning with Bosnia), I am ready for all our troops to come home from both Iraq and Afghanistan. I was solidly in support of both efforts, but overall our country has not been very supportive of the efforts, nor have the politicians, nor have the natives of the countries that stand to benefit from the sacrifice, so quite frankly, I'm tired of it. I'd rather have him at home raising his children.

Wow! I can't believe I just expressed that. Good thing I'm anonymous (I hope)....

Shouldn't have to worry about being anonymous JP. Most any parent, whether they choose to express it or not, probably have the same concerns for their sons and daughters... especially an only child. I'm sure you are very proud of him.

I'm the parent of an only child as well. He just turned 14. I would feel the same as you if I were in your shoes. I'm quite sure you're very proud of him. Please give him my regards and thanks for defending our great country.

Thanks guys, I'll pass along the appreciation. :salute:

Proud barely begins to describe how we feel about him and what he has accomplished. He went from being a teenager who I seriously worried about keeping out of jail to becoming squad leader of a demolitions team, to becoming a Ranger, to becoming SF, to becoming a commissioned warrant officer. Sometimes it just blows my mind to think of what he has accomplished physically and mentally. He's been to Bosnia, to Iraq three times. He's currently stateside, but we're pretty sure his team is preparing for an Afghanistan deployment. Of course, at his level, it's all secret squirrel stuff so we're not let in on his comings and goings and schedules anymore, as it should be... :ermm:

I did instill in him a passion for Vols football, among other things, and one of the most special times is when his mother and I get to go with him and his family and enjoy a game in Neyland.
