DC leaves for less money and same position at Central Florida?

OC leaves for less money and head coaching position at Arkansas State?

Something just isn't adding up?

Auburn hired Chizik because they knew that he could be controlled and somewhat trusted to keep quiet on the dirt down there. How long would you actually enjoy working for your boss when he has authority over you yet he isn't in control of anything?

DC was fired. Auburn had one of the worst defenses in football. OC stock dropped like a rock after the video of his wife went viral and he was not welcomed back to Auburn. Frankly Auburn is better off without them.

Them dumping Roof was a no brainer he blew. Malzhan jumping ship to Arky St. is just puzzling.

Ted Roof might suck as a DC, but wasn't Chizik supposed to be a "defense" guy? As in, a former DC at Auburn? As in, he's not a good coach and caught lightning in a bottle with Cam Newton?

I agree regarding Ted Roof, but I'd say they are spinning hard on Malzhan.

Don't think anything is up. Malzahn and Chizz don't see eye to eye but Gus just loves coaching and wants to be a HC bad. He knows his stock stopped some this year and needed to accept a gig now, but its in a state he lives. He doesn't care about the money. If he has some success he can land a much bigger job later. But there's nothing going on down on the plains I don't think, even though they have been just as crooked as Alabama since the Dye years. And just has gotten worse. Chizzik is a yes man and they knew that when they hired him.

Pretty easy explanation with Gus.

He wants the HC job at Arkansas, but he knows they won't hire him without successful HC on his resume.

He will coach at State til Petrino leaves.
