Is The Economy Really "Improving"?

I would disagree with the thoughts on improvement. Our company is a good indicator, and we've been seeing eerily similar numbers to when the proverbial feces hit the fan.

The DNC Chair is obviously just towing the Obama line to get him reelected. Real working Americans know the economy hasn't improved and can see through the BS.

The economy won't improve until the housing market clears up. We are really far off from that happening.

Debbie "mayonnaise head" Wassermen Schultz is an embarrassment to the DNC. I'm surprised she hasn't been replaced yet.

Good way to give up all credibility. Might as well have said Obama can spell economy.

Funny that in his press conf. today Obama said the economy is definitely worse now than at the beginning of the year. I can see how that means its improving...

And people actually want to reelect him.. That's what I don't understand, how long are we gonna let him blame it all on Bush.. If he gets re-elected in 2015 he will be making excuses about Bush's role in crashing the economy.. Unbelievable

It is pretty absurd. A true leader mans up and takes responsibility. Look love Bush or hate him, he never got in office and started whining and blaming other people. He took the brunt despite all of the unfair jabs he was given. I respect a person that can do that.

I have been hearing that September was the worst month for businesses in over a decade.

We will see how good it really is with tomorrows NF Payroll data

There had been very uneven improvement. Luxury sales are way up, finance and some corporate execs are doing much better than 3 years ago.

Just as the middle class is frustrated with the lack of improvement for themselves, they see the super rich getting super richer. It's not a good situation.

Can you give us some kind of timetable of it recovering:?

Uneven improvement? You mean a few things up but most down? That's really spinning "improvement".

Even Obama said its worse now than it was at the beginning of the year. DWS was plain wrong - it's like McCain saying the economy was fundamentally strong in the early Fall of 2008

The comments on that article are hilarious. They are calling Debbie Wasserman Schultz, "Baghdad Bob"

As for todays rant: When all else fails, kick the banks some more, that should get the economy moving forward

Obama chides banks, taps anger over Wall St | Reuters

Obama said the recent hikes in fees charged by U.S. banks were not a good practice and were likely unfair for consumers.

He said in some cases banks may be jacking up fees because other charges have been prohibited, which is not a "good practice," and "not necessarily fair to consumers."
