Is the Lane Train derailing?

I find it hard to believe any college player (much less one wearing #71) would be crying during a game.

Lane generally holds a job somewhere between 10 and 36 months. He is in unprecedented territory at Ole Miss and now must deal with his lack of consistent recruiting and his damaged psyche and personality. Ole Miss signed Lane to a major contract so must deal with consequences of his eventual meltdown and ongoing attempts to enter the coaching transfer portal.

Id say he will bail next coaching cycle at the latest. Probably hoping to be back in the PAC12 if money offered would be close to the same. SEC West is gonna be even tougher with Freeze over there now with the others.

He has done nothing since signing the new contract.

He’s not leaving unless OM makes him leave. His daughter is starting at OM next year and his son is moving from Cali to live with him next school year. His kids love Oxford.

He's getting $9M a year from Ole Miss for the next 6 years. He's not worth that kind of money nor the hefty buyout Ole Miss put in the contract.

He leveraged them with the Auburn job and now they deserve each other.

He has had his last 10 win season there, and any of his tuggers on here can screenshot this and save it.

Yup, that basically sums it up.

Personally, I think Lane fully intended to bolt after the 2022 season-until someone got a bit far ahead on the reporting that is. After that, his own ego made him stay..

Now he's kinda screwed as he was lackadaisical on most front between basically October and the end of November. I would really hate it if Lane got tarmacc'ed again in a few years lol.

What kind of player cries after being called a slur? I’d expect someone to wanna knock the hell outt him.

They had the right answer in the movie "MASH". You find out who's the skankiest female in that guy's family and tell him all about it.

Amazing how this "mediocre" coach was able to turn the Asheville worm burner into an SEC qb in one year.

He sure ends up in the middle of a lot of drama, and when there‘s not any, he just creates it and then gives his standard “aw shucks“ response. It’s like he craves attention, so long as it’s not aimed at his latest loss or current losing streak. Guy is high maintenance.
I give him credit though, he played the Auburn job opening like a champ, or a con artist, you pick.

He's a great OC, but a mediocre head coach. His high jinx are an attention getter to start. But, they wear thin quickly. They offset his coaching acumen and undermine what he needs to accomplish as a leader and in building a winning culture. He reminds me of James Franklin, except Franklin learned to reign in some of his inner d#$%e bag. Kiffin never will.
