Looks like the polls are moving back towards Obama, did the Palin glow wear off? Did the people object to the lipstick on a pig attacks? What do you guys think?

Hard to tell - the M/P ticket is still about 4 - 5 points to the good of where it was before either convention.

More importantly, the EV outlook has steadily been moving in their favor. He's locking down the red states and the blues are getting a little purple.

Way too early to tell.

Did you guys see that SNL skit with Tina Fey as Palin? Freakin spot on impersonation and hilarious.

I'd say the impersonation was good. The humor in anything SNL these days is pretty weak. The Gore-Bush stuff was at least 2 million times better.

I paraphrase:

Clinton: Diplomacy would be a major part of my foreign policy.

Palin: And I can see Russia from my house.

Clinton: I disagree with the Bush Doctrine.

Palin: And I don't know what that is.

Comedy gold, Jerry. I tell ya'. Its gold!

I've seen doctors tell patients they have a terminal illness. The level of humor was about the same. SNL is pathetic. It's even worse than the actors laugh at their own jokes and congratulate each other. The entire cast deserves a punch in the stomach.

And Phil Hartman / Darrell Hammond as Bill Clinton was a billion billion times funnier than that. I'm glad I'm no longer missing anything by skipping SNL.

Why in the world would a bad economy push anyone towards Obama?

economically ignorant people have no concept of personal responsibility nor the cyclical nature of the economy. they will gravitate toward anyone claiming they will give them money and ask for nothing in return.
