I'm not trying to sound like a jerk first of all.

Anyway, everyone knows what happened at VT (RIP and prayers), but do you think that as the football season goes on that the media is going to mention what happened every 5 minutes. Make little stories out of every player like "this player had friends in this class", "watch this game because its the first home game since...the incident", etc etc. I don't mind a memorial, but knowing how the media is in this country, I can just see this becoming an every week event to turn VT into America's football team. Much like what happened with the Saints after Katrina. Does anyone else think the media is going to take things out of proportion and make us hear sob stories and all that every single saturday?

They still refer to Danny Ainge 3 or 4 times during every televised Tennessee game...of course they're going to reference the slayings during every VT game.

I just wish UT was VT's home opener so the Vols could rip their hearts out like they did to LSU in 2005.

Yes, they will absolutley milk every little thing they can get out it. Wait till ESPN gets ahold of it.

First, is the Eagle's Nest now some kind of tourist attraction with a beir garten? Second, the VT massacre will be a recurring theme because people in general care about it.

That is true.....but there is a fine line between giving it's due coverage and just absolutley running it into the ground. The Saints and Katrina were ran into the ground. This, which involves the youth and can be directly related to every member on the football team, will be ran into the ground to the likes that Katrina/ Saints have never seen.

This year's VT team will be compared to 2005 LSU's after Katrina. Living in Virginia I have seen first hand how the people throughout the state are now supporting the chokies more and more. It seems like every car on the roads has a vt sticker on it.

This is the first year the chokies schedule isnt a complete cupcake because they have to play @LSU sept 7th so they shouldnt start 6-0 or 7-0.

Listen to you guys, making it sound like the media will run any minor story into the ground.

Hey, did you know that Jerome Bettis is from Detroit?
Or that there were two black coaches in this year's Super Bowl?
Or that AJ Hawk was dating Brady Quinn's sister?

I just found these all out!
