Is this dissension in the ranks or a publicity stunt?

I fail to understand what Matthews was expecting from Obama to begin with. How could he be disappointed or hurt about Obama's lack of accomplishments or focus on the future?

I think it just goes to show that people really lapped up "hope and change" and are shocked that such an inspiring campaigner has been such an uninspiring leader.

More than that though, the part about Obama not really being engaged in Washington is most telling to me; especially coming from a guy that worked for Jimmy Carter who was accused of the same thing.

I didnt vote for O b/c I thought he wasnt quailifed, but I am not going to lie, the night of the election, after he had won, I kinda bought into the idea of "Hope and Change".

I really thought he was going to pick us up by the boot straps and foce some accountability on all types of people. I really thought he was going to focus on education, force some to pull up their pants, go out and get a job, and hammer those who were responsible for the 2008 market collapse. None of that has happened and in fact the opposite has happened. I hate it when I am wrong

By far the most disappointing aspect of his presidency, imo. I thought he'd bang some heads together and make some noise, but there's just been this kind of dull static coming from his WH.

wow, some of us saw him for what he is back in 2007. His involvement with Jeremiah Wright should have told you all you needed to know about candidate Obama.

I hate to keep beating a dead horse, but if the media had done half as much to vet Obama as it's done with the current crop of GOP candidates, it would be Hillary campaigning for reelection.

I don't think I would publicly admit to believing a politician about being transparent.

I have heard stories of the WH sending 25 year old kids to the highest level meetings between the Fed, Treasury and OCC. These old guys who have been at the Treasury or the OCC for decades were totally pissed having to babysit

Matthews feels snubbed. Obama isn't having conversations with the right (or any) congressional members or other liberal elite of note. It's not about policy - it's about access and paying dues.

People keep telling him that he needs to talk to the right congressional members but he says 'No, I will talk to the left ones only!'

:p

Surely you jest.

You must admit you didn't do your homework on this
admittedly avid marxist!
