Is this for real?

You are asking US what is up with these checks? Who endorsed the checks? Were they on the UT checking account? Do you think some of us here wrote these checks?

I feel sorry for you guys. Get caught stealing and for 2 years still trying to blame someone else. Believe it or not, most if not all of us are glad Fulmer finally ran the snakes out of Tennessee.

Team Cottrell has been dribbling out bits and pieces for over a year now. Each timje, they're "about to blow the lid of this thing" and "shake the NCAA to its very core"...blah blah blah.

If they (NCAA) made up evidence and coerced witnesses, why did they need Fulmer? Why make a deal to ignore infractions when you could just make it up anyway? Read Fulmer's testimony; almost all of it deals with allegations that the NCAA did not pursue. Fulmer's testimony was not pivotal and was supported by that from other coaches. Again, why make a deal as big as Team Cottrell suggests for very limited testimony of value. Why do you think UA wants nothing to do with this lawsuit?

All these statements are meant to do 2 things: 1) scare the NCAA into a settlement and 2) tamper with the jury pool. The lawsuit (Cottrell and Ivey) I believe was filed in T-town. Team Cottrell has spent a year arguing their case in public to convince all in Bama that what they are saying is true. Bama media either ignores them (thankfully) or serves as a mouthpiece for the "cause" (e.g. Finebaum). No one in the Bama media however has investigated them or challenged them or their "facts". Hence even rational people are becoming "believers" in the cause. :bs:

This "the world is out to get us" crap is getting so old. If the NCAA wanted to bring down a dominant program in the SEC, they would have gone after UF or UT. Bama displayed an arrogant attitude in all its dealings with NCAA. If you get caught while on probation that you were put on because you broke the rules while on a previous probation - you get hammered. Three time offender.

Shanks said that Team Cottrell has uncovered proof of rules violations at Tennessee. At Monday's meeting, Shanks produced a copy of a cashier's check for $2,000 made out to a former Tennessee player. Shanks added that Team Cottrell has copies of 14 other checks.

Shanks also said that Team Cottrell has found a witness who heard Fulmer tell a player who had received a $48,000 SUV, "Don't get caught."

So far, 'Team Cottrell' has stated several times that they have a mountain of evidence to implicate Tennessee. However, every time that they are supposed to show proof... or they actually do give up their so-called 'evidence'... it is either does not exist, is false or is perfectly legitimate according to NCAA by-laws. I'm not too worried about this 'new info' either. They've been digging for years now and have turned up nothing against Tennessee. I would say that if the same amount of digging were done at almost any other school, there would have been something substantial found. 'Team Contrell' needs to get a life and realize that Fulmer runs a clean program.

"So-and-so told so-and-so that so-and-so did this with so-and-so." It's all heresay. You should hear what witnesses I know have said they heard 'Team Cottrell' members saying. :yikes:

Refer to my signature below as the true reason that 'Team Cottrell' is upset!

you might want to start thinking about AU instead of checks.

That article was pretty funny!

How can people hate Fulmer sooo much, he's a likeable guy? I can't think of any coach i hate that much.

Isn't it ironic that the lawsuit is a "defamation" suit claiming that the public statements by the NCAA regarding Cottrell and Ivey caused them to lose their jobs and negatively affected their reputations and future job prospects.

Yet, Team Cottrell routinely defames Fulmer, his lawyer and most distrubing - players (current and former). They announced publicly that John Henderson got some huge amount of money - based on a sworn affadavit. Turns out, the guy that gave the affadavit wanted several hundred grand from Team Cottrell to use it. Oops, let's retract that one - yet they defamed John Henderson without "proof". Look at Jason Swain. Again, they have testimony saying "he couldn't have taken that ACT" but it is not direct evidence. Gallion goes on the radio says Swain is guilty (defaming him). At the heart of the Team Cottrell case is the assertion that the NCAA didn't PROVE Cottrell and Ivey's connection. Sworn testimony by Lang and the other guy in a FEDERAL LAWSUIT says otherwise but according to Team Cottrell, Lang is lying. Interesting double standard of evidence isn't???

Finally, you hear "well if Fulmer has nothing to hide, why not give the deposition" "the truth shall set you free". Two key things: 1) Fulmer has counter suits going on which if successful, will kill the one defamation suit that he is party to. Therefore, he doesn't have to give any deposition in that case. 2) Gallion is on a fishing expedition. Given his history of leaking information, it is clear he will take information from the deposition and try to smear Fulmer and UT. He will dig into the tutor-gate thing which is embarrassing for UT but not an NCAA issue and the Peyton-trainer harassment suit and anything else he can. Even if that suit had merit, it too is not an NCAA issue. If it were, UA would have been in trouble for Wimp Sanderson and Dubose (both harrassers). In short, Gallion and Shanks want to publicly smear Fulmer and UT in an attempt to extort $$ from them or the NCAA

But of course they are defenders of people's reputations :bs:

Being one who has actually been deposed (as a 3rd party witness)... Regardless of innocence or guilt... I don't know any person who would willingly want to be deposed. Usually one side wants you to be credible while the other side trys to discredit you. The questions are never straight-forward... and the answers can be limited. It puts alot of pressure on the individual being deposed and frankly usually wastes alot of time. Remember, lawyers get paid by the hour.

I don't blame Fulmer one bit for not wanting to be deposed... it is a nuisance. For 'Team Cottrell' to say publicly 'what have you got to hide', they are just trying to use bully tactics to push their agenda. I see 2 clear objectives for 'Team Cottrell': (1) get as much money as possible [remember they are lawyers], (2) discredit Tennessee and Phil Fulmer as much as possible... and ironically bring down the Tennessee program... because the Tide can no longer compete with them on the athletic field. Again refer to my signature below \/

Fuzzy logic....they stated that JH was paid what $50k??? Then bammer turns around and buys AM for what $150k??? IF there were ANY truth to TG's slander, at least we proved to be a better "shopper" than bammer.

They have to leak it out just a little at a time. If the allegations ever stopped, the Paul Finebaum Radio Network would collapse . . .

Geez, you people are pathetic. But keep hoping. Because I sure am enjoying the hell out of you folks getting your hearts broken.

To use a football analogy; Team Cottrell is like a team acting like they are going for it on 4th and short but in reality are trying to draw the other team offsides. All these revelations they suggest are just like barking out a fake snap count - trying to get the NCAA to jump (settle).

It's laughable.

Excellent analogy! So BAMA is going to have to take a Timeout or take a Delay Penalty.

Either way, it means they are losing.

They better watch out... or instead of a delay penalty.... they'll get the death penalty.
