I wonder if someone around there sold them some poison heroin.

I guess if they get caught they go back to the hotel with the fence around. Notice in the news today where in CA the paroled guy shot the deputy sheriff in the face and killed him. So all that will happen to him is he goes back to prison with his buddy gang bangers and gets 3 meals a day and nice warm bed to sleep. Meanwhile, at your local rescue mission, they depend on donations to keep those people , homeless, fed, warm, and alive. This all has got to change.

Nobody made them snort it.
I rode paramedic clinical with Memphis fire. Unit 1 at Station 7 near the med on Jefferson and Pauline just a few blocks away from where this video was filmed.

Heroin is cheap and extremely addictive and available.

We revived 4 in just a few hours one night, pushing almost 1200$ worth of narcan through comatose like patients, they get their shot go to the med get some fluids , a few meals and warm blanket, sent home less than a day. Back out there searching for their next hit. They don't learn.

It's a high that you only really experience once and the addiction comes from chasing that first high that you never really seem to find, next you die.

Sad reality of our world, make middle school kids watch this and explain to them early what drugs can do, scare them straight, if people will not buy it or use it it won't be a problem, next we need secure a better future for our youth. Have an economy that keeps families working and fed so they don't need to escape depression with drugs.

(I also believe weed is not a drug, and now it's decriminalized under 1/2 ounce we may see some improvements here in Memphis)

Outside of Texas, there's not much a deterrent factor in the corrections system.
