Let me know if you think this stat is correct or not correct. The only reason I ask is this would change the outcome of a Fantasy football playoff game...

Towards the end of the 3rd Quarter Marcel Reece (Oakland) caught a pass for +1 yards, Green Bay hit him and he fumbled it, the ball went backwards about 14 yards while Green Bay and Raiders wrestled for it then Green Bay ended up with it and ran it back for a TD.

Here's the actual play-by-play: (Shotgun) C.Palmer pass short middle to M.Reece to OAK 24 for 1 yard (R.Francois). FUMBLES (R.Francois), touched at OAK 10, RECOVERED by GB-E.Walden at OAK 5. E.Walden for 5 yards, TOUCHDOWN. The Replay Assistant challenged the fumble ruling, and the play was Upheld.

Here's the video of the play: NFL Videos: Packers ice the game

However, Reece was credited with -13 yards receiving on this play and with the fumble. Shouldn't he had got credited with +1 yard receiving and a fumble?

Normally I wouldn't care but I'm in the playoffs and our matchup ended in a tie with my opponent getting the win due to the fact he won our head-to-head matchup during the regular season. That 1 point would have given me the win.

Offensive players do not get pts for fumble recoveries. Those points go to the defense, or in this case the pts for the fumble go to no one. Since it was his fumble any negative yards given up (IE. him regaining possession then losing it again) would go against his yard total.

The video link you gave doesn't work. I would like to see the video of it.

Agreed...but he never touched the ball after he fumbled it. Carson Palmer in all of his glory tried to recover it and it slipped out of his hands.

Just watched it. I think you could make the argument he gets negative yds receiving if Carson were to regain control of the football, but he never did.

I think you have a beef.

Thanks for looking at it. I saw it happen and saw the point total change and of course they make stat mistakes all the time during games but usually by end of day or next morning it's fixed. However this was never changed. NFL Stats are officially changed by Thursday morning so I hope this is changed..I know they review each game play by play and make sure the stats are correct. Maybe it's just the Fantasy Football gods way of punishing me for playing Marcel Reece in the playoffs.

I actually went to bed thinking that I lost by 1.5 pts. I woke up this morning and I won by 2.5!!!

We play for 500 bones so its a big deal. The guy I beat is supppper pizzzzed. Got to love favorable stat corrections.

Was this due to the Nicks/Cruze stat correction? Yeah gotta love favorable stat corrections but corrections that hurt you can really be painful. I had one earlier in the season where I went to bed thinking I won then woke up and we were tied.

Not that big of a deal during the regular season but it actually cost me a couple of playoff seeding ranks. Football and Fantasy football really is a game of inches.

It was actually an error in the box score of the Texans game that effected Arian Foster. It wasn't listed as a stat correction on ESPN I think due to the fact is was a box score error.

LOL not this year in our league. Average margin of victory is probably in the 30s. And it's not because we have crappy teams and really good teams.

In an 8 team league, we have a 3-way tie in one division, and in the other division, a tie for second, with the tied teams being 1 game back of the division winner.

while it has something to do with the way its officially scored per the NFL, it also has to do with any scoring rules set up in your league. Just because the NFL states one thing doesnt mean you'll score it that way. Ex: a few years back I had Sproles when he was with SD. He runs 2 tds back from punts and its scored as tds by Sproles. I asked why I dont get the points since he was on my team. Answer was that its a D/ST td, not an individual TD therefore the points were awarded to SD. I didnt agree with it but that's was the league ruling even though the NFL said differently.
