If Tony sticks around and continues to exude success as he has done, you might be surprised.No. But, that’s not a bad thing. Tennessee Football will always be king and even the most mediocre coaches will be more well liked than elite baseball coaches. It’s just who we are as a program, but it doesn’t mean our fanbase as a whole wouldn’t run through a brick wall for King Tony. I know I would.
He said something that kind of caught me off-guard. In a post game interview he was asked something about how he felt or what does this mean to you...the usual stupid question....he said something about appreciating being in the conference, although it doesn't always seem that way. Probably nothing to it, but it was an unusual and off the wall comment. Could there be a part of him that isn't happy or satisfied being at UT? He already has TONS of attraction from other teams (maybe even big leagues) and if he wins a Natty this year it will sky rocket. Did anyone else hear this? I'm sure it's nothing and I'm paranoid, a symptoms of Battered Vol Syndrome....
This dude came down the left field line and was fist bumping fans after the game yesterday. He went up into the stands after a huge victory last year. He ran into the outfield and did a front flip into the team meeting. We don’t have to worry about him leaving. His comments were probably more directed at the rival coaches in the SEC.He said something that kind of caught me off-guard. All legends start somewhere and TV’s body of work has been nothing short of amazing. Legends are built over time. The real question is.. will he stick around? If UT AD does their part, I think he will.I know that is a very abstract question given the long and successful
history of UT athletics, but if he continues on this trajectory and perhaps
wins the CWS, he is definitely up there with the legends.
If he is not right now, he will be. There was probaly 40 people in the stands when coach V. first get here. Now it's hard to even get in the stadium for a game.I know that is a very abstract question given the long and successful

Please stop giving yourself things to worry about. If he was gonna bolt, it would’ve been last year when programs like LSU had openings. At this point, Tony’s team just turned in an incredible regular season, he’s got $60 million coming his way for what are sure to be amazing stadium improvements, and he has said repeatedly that loyalty is important to him. Tennessee gave him a shot at being a head coach when other schools wouldn’t, and he won’t forget it. He’s also proven that he can build the best team in the country with notably subpar facilities. He said something that kind of caught me off-guard. It’s still Pat Summitt and Neyland for now. He will eventually get a statue, though.
Class of 1916.FWIW Neyland is in the United States Military Academy HOF for baseball. His pitching record was 35-5. We think of him as a great coach, but he was a great athlete first. He was also the collegiate boxing champion.
