I will admit that I did not think they were as good as I was hearing. I have to say that I think these guys could beat any team I have seen in my lifetime if they play their game. They will not lose a game to anyone but themselves. USC is the only team that can beat USC.

I heard a funny thing this morning on the way to work. People were debating on who is No.2. Some said Fl state, some Texas, some even Va Tech........The best answer I heard was the USC trojans second team. That is the funniest (and scariest) thing I have heard since the loss.

NU in the 90's would have killed them

Not even close! The Huskers were very, very good. But think back to when they played really fast teams that could throw the ball. Arkansas almost had a 10 minute T.O.P. and they still put up well over 700 yards on the hogs.
I don't like it but this team is truly unstoppable by any other team in NCAA. They would kill the Huskers.

I doubt it. They scored running the ball. You can score faster throwing the ball.

case and point: TN vs Florida during spurrier era.

NU defense would have torn apart the USC team and their option offense would have kept their offense off the field for long periods of time.

Isn't close, would take NU by 20

10 minute TOP is huge and that is exactly what the hogs had. Now I know the hogs are a far cry from NU of the 90's but they are not La Tech either. NU could not cover the WR's and Bush.

Maybe Vanderbilt (3-0) should be #2 since they also beat Arkansas.

How many NCAA infractions do you think USC has committed in the last 5 years building this "machine"?

Leinart stays for another year when he could've had $60 million as the first overall pick?!?! Nobody could hate the 49ers THAT much!!

He's living off some fat alumni "donations"!!

95 and 97 Nebraska teams both would've beaten this USC team.

2001 Miami Hurricanes would also, and it wouldnt be close, 2002 Ohio State Buckeyes could go toe to toe with them since that D was just nasty.

if usc wins the rose bowl convincingly they are the best.

i think they would have matched up good with nebraska. they are really fast and nebraska's secondary would have problems with those recievers.

nobody in the nation could of scored on arkansas like that.

Beware the immortal label. Before OU lost to Kansas State in the Conference championship game in 03, they looked invincible. Remember?

Arkansas was having trouble with USC's scout team.

As for whether or not they are the best... I don't know if I would call them the strongest. But if they win the Rose Bowl this year it will be undoubtedly the best 3-year stretch for any team in the history of college football.

2002 osu wouldnt score on usc. and i take usc offense over the buckeye d.

the team to beat usc is 2001 miami. anyone notice how much usc leaves there offense in when the game is over. the scores should have ended around the 40's (still great)

 Alabama Crimson Tide

That is all you need to say when you want to know who the best college football team is/was.

In the decade of the 1970's Alabama won 3 National Championships and 8 SEC Championships.
