Okay, I have kind of laughed about all of Fulmer's other attempts at coaching jobs (The Notre Dame run was hilarious) but USF seems perfect for him. He is a great recruiter and would be able to steal a moderate amount of recruits from the other florida schools. Whether you like him or not, he has some class and does represent a school well. He brings a national title coach to a program that is dying to be recognized nationally. Finally, this is a great time to pounce on florida. Urban is waffling about his future. Jimbo is weird and has nothing to show for himself. Miami is really the only solid future, I say that knowing that UF is still awesome and I might be exaggerating their momentum issues. What do you think?
Fulmer wouldn't get out coached in the Big East, I think its perfect for him.

I think they'd hire Bobby Bowden if they we're going the "nostalgia" route.

Since when did the requirement of 20 posts before starting a thread dropped?

To answer the OP, the best job for Fulmer is the one he currently has. Sitting at home and collecting a check, its the same regimen he has had for the past 10 years.

I have been writing about this for 10 months,,,
He does not appear on any lists though,,,, he would be an excellent choice. So far Tubberville, two Bowdens Terry and Tommy, Calvin Magee, Rich Bisaccia, and interesting Doug Williams are on the list. I have always like Terry B as well.

I agree I think CPF could go down there and get some wins and keep them in the Top 35-40 squads in the nation, probably not much higher though. I hope he lands somewhere.

Jimmy Sexton probably knows that every firing will mean that he will soon hear, "Philip Fulmer on line 1 for you."

Sheeeesh.... Maybe Kirby Smart will get the job, take Lance Thompson, Ed Orgeron and Monte with him..... As long as we're dealing in things that absolutely will NOT happen......

I would really like to see Fulmer land somewhere like this, where he has a chance to win and we can watch him from a distance. Good luck to Him.

On the Scoop Link our buddy Al Davis is back at it again - LOL - he is set to fire Tom Cable "For Cause" - so he won't have to pay out his contract either. Very humorous.

the Bulls link was also good - they really don't have a lcue how big a step up CPF is from Leavitt. And yes, he will be one of the top coaches in the big East behind in my opinion the UCONN coach. Recruiting in Tampa and Central Florida will be much easier than in Knoxville. And less expectations.
