The majority of publications in the Arab World believe war is imminent.

I don't think it will happen. The big majority of people on both sides (Iran, UK, US) do not want to see it. However you never know what some of the leaders have up their sleeves. US/UK vs anyone in an all-out, declared war would be over rather quickly. It's all posturing.

If war were imminient, we would be seeing a lot more rhetoric from Britain and the US. The way they have handled this whole issue has been one of restraint...which I'm fine with as long as they safely get their men and women back.

I believe less and less there will be any military conflict involving the U.S. and Iran during this president's administration. It would take an aggression on the scale of 9/11 to bring it about, and I'm not sure this congress authorizes any more wars for this president without another 9/11 and supreme proof that we would be going after the real enemy. Reference John Kerry from debate w/Bush: "Invading Irag in response to 9/11 is comparable to having invaded Mexico in response to Pearl Harbor."

USA and Israel have been looking for a reason to take out Iran's Nuclear capabilities. Now they have the reason to do it, Great Britain will take the lead. But an arial strike against Iran at this point is a forgone conclusion IMO.

There is no way the U.S. allows Iran to have nuclear cability when they are one of the centers of the Jihad movement.

i would disagree with this, it isn't so much that i think iran's hands are clean as much as i think they are rather indifferent at this point.

I really do not enjoy the prospect of watching two countries with nuclear weapons duke it out. If it comes down to a war between Iran and one of our allies, I would rather the US have a decisive say in the matter.

Unfortunately, Iran will have every opportunity to strike the first blow, as anything short of an attack on US soil (that can positively be traced to Iran) will keep us from taking action against the Persians.

Agreed. But does the U.S. really want to be fighting damn near every country in the Middle East?

Patton would say yes.
