According to SDS he is. I have to agree, after Mauk losing to Indiana and making a poor showing against South Carolina (I know they won, and I didn't see the game, but I heard Mauk was awful) I really can't think of a better East QB.

5. Brandon Allen, Arkansas, 87.5 (15-27, 199 yards, TD) — There were a couple telegraphed throws Allen would like to have back in the fourth quarter that could’ve kept drives alive and a lost fumble in the first quarter snuffed out a potential scoring march in Texas A&M territory.

4. Justin Worley, Tennessee, 92.1 (23-35, 264 yards, 3 TD) — Worley’s best career outing against an SEC defense would’ve been even better had he not missed four series with an elbow injury in the second half. His performance featured several top-notch throws including a 23-yard strike to Jason Croom for a touchdown just before halftime. Worley was sacked twice and missed a couple easy completions on wheel routes.

3. Kenny Hill, Texas A&M, 92.5 (21-41, 386 yards, 4 TD/INT) — A 50 percent completion percentage isn’t the usual Kenny Hill performance, but the final stat line — 386 yards + four touchdowns — proves he got yards in chunks thanks to a couple major missed tackles deep in the Arkansas secondary. He’ll need to be sharper this weekend on the road at unbeaten Mississippi State.

2. Nick Marshall, Auburn, 95.5 (10-17, 166 yards, 3 TD; 105 yards rushing) — Despite a career-high three touchdown passes and his second 100-yard rushing tally, Marshall’s QBR was actually lower than second-teamer Jeremy Johnson’s during Saturday’s win over Louisiana Tech. There’s no quarterback controversy however. Marshall still gives the Tigers the best chance to win.

1. Brandon Harris, LSU, 98.5 (11-14, 178 yards, 3 TD; 2 TD rushing) — Harris deserves the relief appearance of the year for his 2.5-quarter near flawless effort over the weekend. Harris entered the game early in the second quarter and proceeded to direct seven straight touchdown drives for the Tigers, scoring twice by himself on the ground. His three touchdown passes were scattered to three different receivers.

It's got to be either Worley or Dylan Thompson. It might be the lack of Malcom Mitchell and a Justin Scott-Wesley at WR, but it's hard to believe Hutson Mason hasn't been any better. And Maty Mauk, though a different style QB, has been too up and down.

Driskell, Mason, Robinette/Freebeck? Absolutely.

Towles, Thompson and Mauck? Still yes, but the separation isn't as big imo.

This is like being the prettiest girl in welding school. SEC east QB's are not very good this year. Worley is pretty good.

I know this - I wouldn't trade Worley for any other quarterback in the SEC East. Guy has shown what guts and leadership is all about. #stayhealthyplease

LOL, the worm has turned. What were they saying about Worley before the season began?

Towles is solid. Mauk makes more plays than any of them, but is inconsistent. Thompson can't figure out who he is.

I'm with the majority, wouldn't trade Worley for any of them.

BTW these rankings have to be based on only week 5 performance. No way Harris of Allen is that highly ranked in general

I'd agree he is better than the rest in the East. I think he is better than Nick Marshall ... Nick's game won't translate to the NFL since he is far and away a better runner than passer. Who knows when it comes to Kenny Hill. And Brandon Harris? Really??? The guy has 1.5 games or so under his belt and SDS is pegging him as the best in the SEC .. point is, Worley is at worst top 3 in the entire SEC maybe only behind Hill.

Going into the year we didn't think he could do the job, well he proved he is a SEC QB, and one of the top East or West, he is getting better every week and the more the line improves the more Worley will improve, reminds me a great deal like Crompton when he was a senior. Going in the year I didn't think I would say I wish we had Worley for one more year, but I do, he gain my respect against the Sooners, kept on getting up after getting hit play after play and against Georgia the way he kept bringing us back in the 4th quarter.

Worely has reminded me of the character in, Cool Hand Luke movie when Luke gets in fight at prision ...big guy keeps knocking him down but he just keeps getting back up coming back , no quit in him. Thats when he gained all the respect of his fellow inmates and they where on edge ready to follow him anywhere.

The best SEC East QB will be the QB that leads his team to the SEC title game. It's not about stats but who drives/leads his team to victory that counts the most. Check back in November.

If our oline keeps improving each week he'll be top 3 in the whole conference. He has drastically improved.

So football isn't a team sport?

So football isn't a team sport?

Didn't say that. Read again. I said the best QB is the one that drives/leads his TEAM to victories. QB is a leader position as much as a talent position.

Spin it as you see fit....

Its amazing the steps that Worley has made this yr. To bad he didn't have this coaching staff his whole carrer. I think hes definitely the best QB in the east.
