Is Yemi our best rebounder?

Yemi has a knack for grabbing the boards. I'd say he's probably the best. Stokes can obviously grab them too, but I feel like Yemi doesn't have to work as hard for them.

Maymon! If you really want to get in the paint for a rebound with that guy be prepared for a fight

I might be a prisoner of the moment, but I've gotta say Stokes. He grabbed some huge boards last year and he's strong under the basket. He's got my vote...

I'd say Maymon, but only because I've only seen a limited samole from Stokes. With a full offseason, it coukd be Stokes. I think Edwards will be a major improvement on the wing from a rebounding standpoint.

This!

That's something not many are talking about, our rebounding advantage.

Last year we were 2nd in the league iirc, we were a great rebounding team, and that was with stokes for only half a year and being just thrown into the fire.

This year, we have a better stokes, a senior in maymon, an improving yemi...and an upgrade at the 3 in rebounding in Edwards. We very well could lead the conference in rebounding, and be one of the best rebounding teams in the country.

jarnell and maymon fought each other for rebounds. therefore their numbers would be lower than yemis even if they are better rebounders. regardless, they are all beasts

I would just rather Yemi step up, figure out his body as far as staying under control a little more, use his raw strength and shoulders, as well as his ability to track the ball, and allow us to not have to play Kenny Hall except in blowouts.

I'll second that.
Yemi's on course to keep Kenny on the end of the bench this season.
Really doesn't speak well when you get benched in Italy for lack of effort.
I mean, when do you learn?

when you are 10, 11, 12, 13 etc. Too late when you are 20, 21. Years of bad habits and coddling are hard to correct in a couple of years of college.

I agree. I hope to not see Hall take his warm-up off, let alone play. Talk about a wasted career following some promise as a freshman.

Hall is the 2nd highest rated prospect on this team. i wouldn't throw him out the door just yet. I remember many were wanting to say that Maymon was a bust. Remember the disgruntled Marquette transfer who couldn't get minutes over the rat Maybe Cuonzo gets something out of Hall. regardless, UT is fortunate that they have him coming off the bench.

not if he zones out, gets beat to the ball, and scores 2 pts while giving up 6 pts and a couple of boards where he just stares at the ball.

If he can bring 3-4 minutes of intensity a couple of times a game, perfect. However, he looks like a cooler to me. The guy that comes in the game and the momentum changes for the worse pretty quickly.

Ratings mean nothing. JaJuan Smith was the lowest rated player on his teams. Hall has had three years and two coaching staffs to impress and has flopped with lack of hustle, desire, and attitude. A tiger generally doesn't change his stripes, which is why I only hold out a glimmer of hope for McRae. He has got two more years to turn it around, but if he is his normal unimpressive self this season, he will fall in the same category next year.
