Sears and Smith sadly will get it over him. But ZZ should get it
Sadly I think y you’re right. Sears will probably get the nod based on hype. But he wouldn’t get it from me. Sears is a fraction of the defender ZZ is. Way fewer assists. He’s basically a volume shooter that plays PG. And ZZ has the leadership quality that’s unmatched

Zakai is an example of the best kind of college athlete, imo: someone who may not sniff a career in the pros but can play with and against a bunch of future pros in college and still emerge as an incredibly important, game-changing player. Lofton was another example, sweeping that Florida team full of NBA players the year they won the chip. Kirby as well: no shot at MLB and yet got many critical outs on the biggest stage in college baseball. There’s a reason players like that are fan favorites.

Let them have it. That chatter will make for an added chip on ZZ's shoulder come dance time. Never a bad thing, IMO.

One of the commentary shows, I think SEC Now, had a feature on Ziegler that showed him as the third most valuable player in college basketball.

Just Googled it. It was based on ratings by a basketball analyst Evan Miyakawa. There's an article on On3 but I can't get to that site because of my ad blocker.
