Texas A&M-Louisiana Tech game postponed due to Hurricane Isaac - ESPN

Could this give Florida a little more of an edge? I was hoping they would have a stiff test in A&M the week before they play us... The gators still have to travel, but A&M is breaking in a load of new stuff (coach, system, QB) for the first time against UF.

I think that it definitely helps them. How much remains to be seen. Would hate to have to open up conference play, in a new conference, with a new staff, etc, regardless of if UF is down or not. Tough draw.

probably gonna be a defensive battle when A&M and Florida match up... both teams have their QB issues.

Yea...unfortunately it give Florida a little more of an edge, but I think with A and M's line and running back and solind defense, this game could go A&M's way anyway. Florida really has no offensive strength at this moment other than maybe Trey Burton.

If you believe in the theory that a team improves the most from its first game to its second game then Fla will have a bit of an edge. However, with A & M having a new staff then Fla won't have any game film on them to study tendencies other than what they did last year on another team.

I like the fact that Fla actually has to play a tough game for once before they play UT. That is a rare occurence.

Yup. Florida playing a tough team early on is good. Urban would not approve of such games if he was still in G'Ville

Fla did play Miami in 2002, 2003 and 2008. However, they haven't left the state of Florida for a non-conference regular season game in years.
