Washington Offers Tehran Negotiations To Avoid Striking Israel: Report

A source in the Iranian foreign ministry told Al-Jarida that Washington offered Tehran direct negotiations with Tel Aviv to de-escalate the conflict.

According to the source, Washington will guarantee to persuade Tel Aviv to stop its military operations in Syria and Lebanon on the condition that Iran commit not to retaliate against Israel for the Damascus attack.

At the same time, a diplomatic source in Beirut told Al-Jarida that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu rejected an American proposal to pledge to stop attacks in Syria.

The source revealed that the Iranians had also previously received a verbal Israeli proposal via a Gulf state. In the proposal, Tel Aviv claimed it was ready to stop operations against Iranian targets in Syria and Lebanon in exchange for Tehran abandoning retaliation for the killing of Zahedi, whose killing was considered the most significant blow to Iran since the assassination of Qassem Soleimani.

According to the source, the Iranian Foreign Ministry responded to the Israeli message by saying that the proposal must also include a ceasefire in Gaza.

So a ceasefire in Gaza was allegedly countered by the Iranians. And then we see Israelis pulling out of Rafah and aid trucks suddenly pouring in to Gaza.

Something went down.

Israel pulled out of Kahn Younis in southern Gaza.
(Which has been rendered unlivable and is still being covered by Drones) the invasion of Rafah hasn’t happened yet but is absolutely going to happen due to Hamas outright rejecting any conditions of a ceasefire today.

Meanwhile in the West Bank, Jerusalem is all but cut off and an attack from Iran would seal the deal.

The most the Israelis can do/will do is just continue bombing if they do engage in an attack on Rafah. They will not storm the area with infantry/ground forces. And as I have been saying for a while now, bombing is not going to do anything but kill more civilians... not threaten Hamas. You can't win a war with just air power alone.

They talk a lot about destroying hamas but they sure seem to be making Gaza unlivable a higher priority.

I have no idea what is actually going on there, simply responding to the post indicating that land was being sold to Israelis.

If land is being sold by Gazans to Israelis, do you consider that “stealing”? Interesting if so.

My mistake, I thought you were commenting on the land grab near Jerusalem. I'd be surprised if there's not a restriction on selling Gaza land to Israelis.
edit - it's Wikipedia but: Palestinians who sell land to Israelis can be sentenced to death under Palestinian governance, although death penalties are seldom carried out

Because the southern border is our problem.
The rest of the world isn’t. We are not qualified to be the world police when we can’t handle our own business and make everyone else’s lives worse

Selling out is against the law punishable by death. These super rich “Palestinians” are not concerned with the backwards tribal thinking of Hamas and the people who prefer primitive living. They know who will ultimately win this and they’re cashing out at the expense of those renters who made them rich.
The people of Gaza and the West Bank continue to be **** on by their leaders worse than any outsiders.
But yes “Israel bad”

edit- I’ll add that as should be clear already I have no love or admiration for Calhoun and the other fire eaters. They can rot. I do respect and admire those who defended their homes against invasion.

that's not how it works. especially when those in power is killing those who speak out against them.

If you voted for Trump but have accepted Biden, you didn't elect Biden just because you haven't thrown him out of office.

The Kims were elected in NK, not ready to blame the North Koreans for the faults of the Kims even though they elected them at one point in the past.

even less so when most of the people in the country were either not alive, or of voting age, when it happened. its literally all they know.
