Hall of Fame Racing today announced that the No. 96 team with driver Bobby Labonte will be Ford's wild-card entry into the famed Budweiser Shootout following NASCAR’s rule change on Friday. The team will use the points from the No. 38, which was driven by David Gilliland in 2008.

In addition, Paul Menard's No. 98 Ford will receive the points from the No. 28 team, the organization confirmed, leaving drier Travis Kvapil with no points entering the 2009 NASCAR Sprint Cup season. That means that Labonte and Menard are locked into the field for the first five NASCAR Sprint Cup races, but that Kvapil is not.

Looks like Gilliand is odd man out.

i think Gilliland is a decent driver, but it appears his 15 minutes are up.

Could they have possibly came up with an uglier scheme? As someone else put it last week when they got the sneak peek - "it looks like a 13 year old painted this on their XBOX."

That's it!:good!: How could they choose the other car over this one? I was looking for it but couldn't find it.

i kind of get the feeling the car's performance is going to worse than the paint scheme.

I don't know. If Bobby is getting the same equipment that the 38 and 28 got last year he should be able to do better than he did at Petty. He is definately a better driver than TK or DG. With a little luck he can finish somewhere around 18th-23rd.
