My car overheated today while I was waiting for my periodontist's office to open after lunch hour.

It's been right at or close to 100 the last couple of days, and today it rained for about 15 minutes. The temperature dropped to 90, and it felt cool..

Same thing happened here. The thermometer at my house was showing 102, and then it rained and the temperature dropped to 91 and felt like somebody had run an air conditioner outside. When it started raining, I looked in my backyard and my dog had gone to the middle of the yard and was laying on her back with her paws in the air. For a second, I thought about going out there myself.

It's times like these where those $1200 air-conditioned dog houses they speak of on VH1 would come in handy.

On the bright side, it looks like our early season games are scheduled at night this season. Anyone who endured the UAB game last year will certainly appreciate that.

Oh, but don't forget, global warming is a farce!

10th day in a row 100 degrees or higher. Should break this weekend.

Nowhere near the 56 straight days of 100+ when I moved out here in 1980.

And that's a good thing in my book. Just the thought makes me wince in pain.
