I honestly think Dooley was a "silver-spoon" kid. His dad was a college football legend - especially in GA. He probably never paid for his dinner. Dools grew up watching all of this and began to expect it - hence his aloofness (some call it arrogance). So it doesn't surprise me that he didn't work as hard as he could have. I believe his true calling is in athletics administration - not coaching. But b/c of his father and hero (Saban) he is reluctant to admit this simple fact to himself ("I'm not a coach"). Psychoanalysis I know, but a theory nonetheless.
With all of his faults, he did "right UT's ship" from a NCAA perspective and cleaned up UT's image. For these reasons, I believe he belongs in an admin. position.
