UAB football team loaded the buses at around 8AM this morning and are now on there way up. Not sure where they're staying, but I believe it's the Marriott.

So they can assure that all the players are accounted for, and to promote a "team" atmosphere.

I'm a little more pumped for it... but dang this Katrina thing because I would have been so much more ready/excited for this if all this stuff hadnt happened. Regardless, though, I am excited for the game... just not as much as before. Hopefully by 11:30 in the morning I'll be more pumped. I dont think I'll be eating my words. I'm not thinking UAB will come in and dominate or not even win necessarily either, but I think some of you will be surprised with what you see in UAB. You guys will be a believer in Hackney win, lose, or draw.

I won't be that surprised I don't think.

I'm expecting a pretty ugly game. Tennessee will score early, UAB might score to tie or cut the lead, no one will score for a lil while, and then Tennessee will blow it open and ROLL.

That's the same script I expect. If our front 7 is as good as advertised, the second half will belong to us.

If you havent seen Hackney play before, I think you'll be surprised. Alot of people think he has the numbers he has just because of the conference he plays in and that may have SOME to do with it, but Hackney is just an amazing QB. I'm looking forward to seeing how much more mobile he is this year now that he's lost about 20-30lbs.

I haven't seen him, but I know what to expect. If FSU's D can get to him, our front 7 will FEAST on him.

He's good. He might be the best QB we face all year. (Yes Florida, better than Chrisy Poo.)

But he WONT affect the outcome of the game.

Well I'll reserve my judgment as far as UT's front 7 until after the game. There's no question UT's is great, but I dont that I've seen a better front 7 than FSU's in some time... except maybe the front 7 of the 92 Alabama team. Like Coach Fulmer said, UAB has a lot of skill players that people just arent aware of. People think we''re up a creek because we lost Roddy White (1,400 yards receiving) but dont realize we got 1,600 yards from our other WRs. 1,600 yards in and of itself is a pretty big season for alot of QBs. Point being... UAB has a lot of talent at our skill positions. IMO, UT will not shut down Hackney or our offense overall. You can LIMIT it, but I dont think you can shut it down entirely.

I'll be so glad when REALITY sets in and you have to admit UAB just isn't in Tennessee's League.

You're nice enough, but I'm tired of UAB thinking they are coming up to Knoxville and scoring a load on Tennessee's D.

UAB isn't going to win, and they aren't going to score at will. Realize it now, and it will make tomorrow a lot easier.

You're probably right, but if all else fails, I think most of us are banking on us being able to just beat on UAB at the line of scrimmage and eventually wear them down with our size and depth. We've been through this sort of thing before with Donovan McNabb and Byron Leftwich. They got their yards, but in the end we were able to dominate the line of scrimmage and win.

I'm just tired of reading quotes from thier players and coach talking about how much they are gonna score and how they aren't scared. Blah Blah Blah.

I'm so ready to see some punks get their helmets turned around and some TD Fireworks, that I can't see straight.

I know what you mean, but we both know they HAVE to talk like that whether they believe it or not. The difference is that instead of just having to listen to it for a week, since it's the opener we've been hearing it for a month.

We'll see. I know Vol fans quite well and they expect domination. Even if UT does take care of business, if it's not dominant and the game is remotely close, there will be alot of angry Vols out there.
